Metre Squared Architecture

We engaged Metre Squared on the redesign and refurbishment of a flat overlooking the Thames. The project involved drawing up scenario plans for reconfiguration of the space, and guidance on furnishing style and specific products that would compliment the overall design. The service we received was exemplary. It was personal, efficient, timely and extended our thinking way beyond what we would have anticipated was possible. We were given clear and exciting plan options for the space. Moreover, we were guided on colour palate, and furnishings that delivered, for us, a tremendous result, giving us huge valued-added over what we could have done without such guidance. The personal and focussed approach of the engagement with Metre Squared was such that throughout the entire project, from conception to completion, a refreshing dialogue was maintained that resulted in the whole project being a totally enjoyable and rewarding experience for us - perhaps the definition of a 5 star service.

Gilda worked with us to design a piggyback loft extension to provide additional living space for our family. Her experience and knowledge of the local area and building regulations were invaluable in obtaining planning permission and producing a design that met our brief.

We gave Gilda a difficult task of creating a design for us, encompassing a number of requirements within a conservation area. It was important to work with an architect with experience in such an area and, particularly, with insight on how our borough council operated. We made the right choice: our project passed planning at the first attempt which, coming to know the restrictions, was beyond our expectations. We're really pleased with the design which meets all of the requirements that we set out at the beginning.

Hello, we were pleased to work with Gilda, she worked through the options for our renovation. We were pleased with the results, which will be carried out of over stages for a number of years.

Gilda fully understood our very specific brief and translated this into an innovative and exciting design. At her suggestion, we increased the scope considerably with a first floor extension. The final result is a very modern liveable home with special features including hidden electric blinds, hidden electric curtains, controlled lighting, 2 floor lift, cantilevered fully opening corner with sliding glass doors, vaulted ceiling in master bedroom. Gilda was fantastic throughout the process. We started the project during one of the lock downs but Gilda made us feel comfortable during the whole process as site visits are essential to the process. Gilda helped navigate all the red tape including structural engineers, build over certification, planning approval, building regulations and the list goes on. We were provided with alternative building proposals and we were able to decide which set of plans we wanted to move forward with. Overall we were very happy with the process and end results.
