From the first meeting and then every step of the way Nic and his team have provided prompt, clear and helpful advice.. Nic Antony Architects produced excellent drawings and looked after every step of the planning process of our extension project, subsequently obtaining quotes for the work involved. They kept us well informed at all stages, and dealt with any of our queries quickly and in depth. From the first meeting until the last to agree the terms of a contract between us and the construction company they were first class. The great thing is that while we asked them to handle everything from the initial ideas we had regarding our proposed extension , we were never pushed into using their services or suggested contractors. So if you only want the plans drawn and then wish to handle everything else yourself that’s okay. But if like us you need a company to look after everything then that’s what they can do. We will not hesitate to use or recommend Nic Antony Architects for future projects.

We had a phone conversation with Nic more than a month ago. At the time we didn’t think he had taken enough detail to draw up plans, but he said that he would. We heard nothing further, and therefore wasted an awful lot of time. Why not just say that the project was not for him at the time, and we would have been fine with that?. No doubt his work is brilliant, unfortunately we will never know.

Nic Anthony architects were an absolute pleasure to work with. Our project is a simple 4M rear extension however, we've had a lot of personal issues since our initial engagement in 2021. Nic and his team have been amazingly patient with us while we navigated a difficult time. Eventually we've arrived at a place where we have got our final plans created and have thoroughly enjoyed the creative process. Nic and his team have been great at showing us alternative ideas while keeping our budget in mind! Nic has also been very good at helping us to refine any ideas we had and is an excellent sounding board with good honest advice. I cannot recommend Nic and his team highly enough. In fact I've already recommended him and his team to family and friends!

Contrary to the other reviews I had a terrible experience with this practice.. No site visit I went with Nic based on outstanding reviews I read on Google and Houzz. We agreed the work, paid the 50% fee and had an initial meeting on Zoom. This was towards the tail end of the Covid pandemic and restrictions were relaxed to allow face to face meetings. After the first meeting which I thought was more of a brain storming session, to my surprise, I was told that no other meetings are required until draft plans were ready. I casually asked if you’d like to come to the property to which the answer was NO - Not required. Well I guess I should have taken a step back there and then but I thought may be this is how experienced architects work. Not once did Nic visit my property through out the process which is a very strange experience. No creativity As one can imagine, the draft plans created were not to my brief and one would wonder how could they be given the site was never visited. I requested for a face to face meeting to update the plans. Went to their office which went ok. Most of the changes were being proposed by me and nothing creative was suggested by the architect or his assistant. Poor comms Communication was sub-standard. All comms were via email and no phone calls were made. When I called for updates or to talk to Nic to discuss something I was often told that he was in a meeting and would call back. The call backs never happened. When I chased the next day again some other assistant would pick up the phone to tell me that Nic is now away for 3-4 days on holidays or he is out for site visit or some other meeting. Biting more than one can chew Throughout the process I felt that the practice took on more work than they could deliver. I was told this by their receptionist Paula and Nic himself that they are very busy due to workload. It’s fine I guess but one should bite only what one can chew. To my surprise while the work was being under-delivered due to workload I saw fliers and ads in local newspapers to book in a free consultation with Nic whereas existing clients were suffering. To summarise, Nic may be good for small projects like your typical loft or rear extension but if you need creativity and a personal experience where you’d want to work with an architect to build your dream house he’s probably not for it. Your mileage may vary.

Nic Antony worked with us on a project to create a loft and also ground floor rear extension. We didn't want a flat roof for the ground flor extension as we didn't just want a 'box' on the back of the house. Nic's innovative design got us what we required with a sloping roof design that we roofed with zinc. When tendering for the construction, builders commended the detailed requirements that Nic provided for the various elements of the project, enabling us to get true comparative quotes.

We have been working with Nic Antony and his office staff for many years now and found the whole team to be very supportive and helpful throughout our projects from start to finish. Their drawings and specifications are very detailed and comprehensive. What we especially like is the tender specification we receive as It gives everyone tendering all equal opportunity by quoting the same items. Very user friendly and very well set out and there attention to detail very high.
