NVDC Architects

I have used Farahbod and his team at NVDC, for a number of business projects over the last 10 years, so it was the obvious choice to instruct NVDC again, when I decided to add an extension to my own house. Farahbod's skill and creative flair has resulted in an extremely well designed layout internally, due to a reconfiguration of the kitchen/dining area and utility room. Externally, a sympathetic approach has been taken to ensure the extension, which comprises of a garage and living room to the rear, fits in well with the local Conservation Area. It looks stunning, and we are absolutely delighted with it, now that works are complete. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Farahbod and his team at NVDC, as they are a creatively excellent Architect's Practice.

We hired Farahbod and his team to remodel various rooms in our semi detached Victorian stone villa, including converting two rooms to a large open plan kitchen diner with separate utility room, reconfiguring a bathroom and bedroom, and designing a raised patio and standalone garage. We had previously consulted a different architect but didn't feel inspired by their ideas. As soon as we met Farahbod we began to be excited about our project as he instilled us with so much confidence that he would produce designs that we would be happy with. He listened carefully to our ideas, and took account of all the things we wanted, but also suggested things we would never have thought of to make the best use of the space and to look good. He was very patient, suggesting a variety of options until we were completely happy. He is very easy to deal with, and a lovely person with whom we enjoyed working. Things moved along quickly and deadlines were always met. The design gives us the modern space we were looking for, but is sympathetic to the age of the house. Once the build began he was always available to answer queries and everything ran very smoothly because the plans had been so carefully thought through. Our build has now been completed and we love the result. We cannot recommend NVDC and Farahbod highly enough.

We hired Farahbod from NDVC Architects with the intention of converting our loft space into a third bedroom and getting drawings for same. However upon visiting our property he identified other possibilities that would achieve our aim of an extra bedroom at less than half the price, be completed much sooner and a fraction of the disruption and management. He produced drawings for all the options and explained the ins and outs of each one. Once we made our decision Farahbod submitted the application for the building warrant, almost immediately. We are now in the process of sourcing contractors for the work. From the initial phone call NDVC have been excellent to deal with and Farahbod has done everything he said he would do on time and in a very professional manner. He took time to explain all the options clearly and in detail. He has saved me time and money and I suspect a lot of headaches. I hope to deal with NDVC again and have no hesitation in recommending them.

Farahbod and his team have done plans for updating our kitchen and utility room at home. We live in an older house and wanted to modernise the kitchen/utility room to make better use of the space whilst maintaining some of the features. The plans look great and we are hoping to start the work next spring. Farahbod was helpful and offered plenty of options for the final design.

I've worked with Farahbod and team for about 4 years now, mainly on a project for my dental practice and lately on some work at home - I can honestly say out of the myriad of professionals, businesses, advisors etc I've worked with he is the both the most polite, competent, and frankly friendliest I've come across. I would apply that to his very considerate and patient team too. I think it's fair to say NVDC have done some lovely projects and I'm excited with how our home will look once it's all finished - but, for me, much more importantly is the support they offer when things get tough on a project. I had severe issues on my work project and frankly without Farahbod (and also the main man from the local builder) it would have ended in disaster..... essentially my main specialist contractor let me down to the point of almost ruining the whole build - Farahbod stepped in and got it sorted in about 2 weeks, no questions asked I can't recommend enough and I would suggest you give serious consideration to using this firm for your needs, I am confident you will be delighted with the service and actually enjoy dealing with them - which is something you can't often say about any sort of construction project!

We would highly recommend NVDC Architects. We hired Farahbod and team on the basis of a personal recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed. The project was an extension of a cottage on Islay in the conservation village of Port Charlotte. The NVDC team initially compiled an imaginative range of extension options, keeping in mind all of our preferences. We selected a few options which NVDC further refined following feedback from the planning authorities. Despite the design constraints that the village's conservation status imposed, we were delighted by the final design that the NVDC team produced. NVDC are a very professional and accomplished architect's practice whom I have hired on a number of different projects, ranging from the high end refurbishment of a property in Glasgow in 2009, a complete house refurbishment in Wimbledon in 2012 which involved structural changes and just finished an extensive Rear 2 Storey Extension project to my house in Wimbledon. Their attention to detail, creativity and ability to interpret from a rough sketch of what we were trying to achieve to a full set of architectural plans has been very impressive. NVDC have always exceeded my expectations and also assume responsibility for resolving many of the complications involving planning regulations, structural engineering and the builders you choose to realise your project. Farahbod and his team produced plans for a three storey extension with a contemporary look to add to our Victorian detached house. I have had other work done with NVDC in the past and am very impressed with their work.
