Our neighbours recommended RoundRobin studio for the extension and refurbishment of our home and we did not regret it for one moment. Anca’s previous experience on both traditional listed housing stock as well as larger modern projects proved essential in negotiating the extension of our modern terrace in a conservation area. Our home is one of 5 modern date terraced homes which meant that there were no precedents to show in support of our planning application. We were rather put off by the negative response to our pre-application advice request. Anca’s diplomatic flair and presentation skills brought us back on track in no time with a full planning consent granted. Further down the line Anca’s professionalism appeased the rather unpleasant building control officer appointed to us by the local council. Ours was a complete redesign of a Grade II listed building loft. The main challenge of the project was to morph the original dysfunctional open plan arrangement into a flexible four bedroom home. Anca worked with us from the beginning to the end. Her input was highly appreciated after a less-than-pleasant relationship with two previous architecture offices who let us down at concept stage. The design evolved imaginatively from our brief, transforming constraints into design opportunities. Anca’s patience and professionalism steered us steadily through obtaining the listed building consent, building control sign off followed by the tender process. The occasional surprises on site were resolved creatively, adapting the design to avoid redundant work, and thus keeping everyone happy. Throughout the process our opinions as a family were never brushed aside, therefore the final result is finely tuned to our specific needs. We enjoy our new home every day!
