Having found a unique site, we commissioned Roundhouse Architecture to work with us to design a unique build befitting of the panoramic landscape and our requisite for a family home. Norman and Graeme recognised what we wanted to achieve and worked patiently with us from early concept, through planning submission to completion of our lovely home. We are delighted with the external and internal detail and would have no hesitation in recommending Norman and his team to anyone considering a new build or house extension.

I bought my Snowdrop house because the design both inside and out was something i haven't seen any other house builder do. Norman/Roundhouse Architecture has made these houses look contemporary but with a traditional feel. From the very start i was involved in any changes i would like to make. At the time of my house being built i was living abroad so all my contact with Norman was via email. Which was not a problem at all and ran smoothly. The kitchen area is where i made some changes, vaulted the celiening and installed an island into the kitchen design. None of this was a problem at all for Norman and emails i sent were answered immediately. The position my house sits on the plot allows the sun to shine in all day in just about every room, from sunrise to sunset. There are five houses in my development and none of them looking on to each other, you can tell there is real thought went into the way these houses sit on each of their plots. We both love our new house so thank you very much Norman.

Based on a recommendation from a trusted contractor, I hired Roundhouse to prepare a renovation plan for my unused outbuilding in rural Aberdeenshire. This property dates from the early 1800s and is typical granite stone construction. Norman McIntosh impressed me with his proactive and creative style. He researched the history of the property, bringing to light new details about its original development. He then created a plan in keeping with my wishes. This is both in keeping with the character of the property, and economical; for instance making use of the existing septic system, as well as looking into council tax implications of the renovation. I highly recommend Roundhouse for projects of this type!

We bought our house from Snowdrop Developments, who Roundhouse Architecture work with regularly. A stunning house that is very well designed and constructed; we won't need to move again! We found the input we were allowed into the design refreshing and equally the responsiveness, receptiveness and willing of Norman and his team made the process very easy and enjoyable. The care and attention to detail throughout the design of the house is evident, as is the quality; the house flows well, is lit with plenty of natural light and extremely spacious; the efficiency of the design is already evident. The team at Roundhouse have supported my house building business (Snowdrop Developments) for the start as my design team and continue to do so. They are regarded as a key element to our continued success and offer more than Architectural design, they can provide everything else that is required including detailed warrant drawings, 3D modelling and project management when required. They are a pleasure to work with.

We found our dream plot, a derelict barn and land near to Montrose and letting the heart rule the head purchased it. We soon realised that the reason the property developer sold it was because of the extremely high costs of restoration, and we are operating on a limited, perhaps unrealistic budget. After having difficulties with our original architect we short listed three others and had the extreme good fortune to select Norman and his team. Norman has worked with us to devise a design which retains and utilises all of the existing stonework as the main house, and fills in the missing section using contemporary materials to create a garage/utility area/cloaks, at a fraction of the original costing. In fact his approach should reduce the total build cost by 100k, and bring us back in budget. His plans were passed on the first attempt by Angus council with virtually no conditions. This has been a very difficult project, and Norman has been extremely patient and professional, his work has been outstanding and he has delivered everything on budget. I have used Roundhouse Architecture (Norman McIntosh) on a number of projects in the past six years. The great thing about Norman is that he listens to your ideas, keeps you informed of progress, or problems and delivers what you, the client wants. The final design is always of the highest quality. Importantly, Norman has an excellent working relationship with the local planning officials. Roundhouse has provided services for a kitchen and utility room extension at our previous address. A large new double garage and store at our current address. Is currently working with myself and a third party on a proposed development on a 2 acre site which we own.

All round our experience with Roundhouse Architecture was fantastic. Roundhouse Architecture made our vision a reality, they listened, understood and created exactly what our family were looking for and more. Its always a daunting tasking making changes or building new, well I am very pleased to share, that this was not the case for us when using Roundhouse Architecture.
