We are so pleased we chose to work with Stuart and the team at Wighton Architects on our house development. They understood our needs, perhaps better than we did, and developed a design we can’t wait to start living in! From start to finish, the process has been as stress free as it could have been. Our queries have been dealt with promptly and respectfully. Nothing has ever been too much trouble. And, not having to deal with the planning or regulation side of things has been a huge plus. We were extremely happy with the work and support from Stuart and the team, we were impressed with the speed and efficiency with which our project progressed, during the design and planning consent, liaison with external bodies was excellent and responses to any queries we had we always promptly addressed. After shortlisting a couple of architects, we met with Stuart and he just understood what we were trying to achieve and his price was competitive. After agreeing upon a design brief, he made three proposals and we chose which parts of which design we liked and combined them. We had to navigate the more difficult planning route required of a grade 2 listed house, and we also live in a tree conservation area. Stuart put together a strong planning statement, showing that each part of the design had been considered from a planning and heritage stand point. We only needed some minor tweaks and planning permission was granted. Stuart was very professional throughout. He was easy to contact by phone and email. More importantly he seemed to have a genuine interest in our project. We couldn't be happier with the design and the finished product. Our house now flows so much better than before and we have a wonderful new space for the family to use for years to come.

From our first email through subsequent meetings to construction, Stuart and his team have provided a first class service. I couldn't recommend Wighton Architects enough. We have a regular semi detached house that just isnt working for us, the space is too small and needs a re-jig of the floorplan along with an extension. We have a really awkward shaped plot so needed someone who would have creative solutions to make it work. Every question I had was answered quickly, never condescendingly, and with attention to detail. Stuart was incredibly patient as we changed our minds and then changed it back, requested tiny changes and insisted on a bay window. He was supportive and showed care whilst we navigated through the planning stage- this isnt something we've done before (or will likely ever do again), so it was really appreciated that we felt as though everything was taken care of. We begin building in Feb time and I cant wait to see the plans become a reality- going from a regular semi-detached house to something quite special will be amazing. These guys may not be the cheapest, but they by far exceeded everyone else we spoke to as well as our expectations. I cant recommend them highly enough- thanks all.

They worked with the planners and conservation teams in a collaborative manner throughout the planning review process and kept us updated Most importantly Stuart and team built up a great rapport with us at the start of the process and this has continued throughout. We approached Stuart back in May 2020 seeking planning permission to build an accessible family home for my wife as she became paralysed from the chest down in 2019. The site was challenging as it’s within the curtilage of a Grade II listed house and also within green belt. We had approached several architects but nobody seemed to quite fit in with our expectations. As soon as we engaged with Stuart, we knew he was the right architect for us! Stuart and Amelia offered their skilful knowledge with an astute, friendly and approachable manor. They both spent a lot of time communicating with us and really pinning down our hopes and visions and making those into a reality. As there were many challenges as noted above, every step of the process was done so at the very highest of quality. We never felt as though we were hurried or our opinion wasn’t taken into consideration. Thankfully due to Stuart and Amelia’s excellent skill set and knowledge, we were granted full planning permission on our first application. The planning officer even expressed his personal praise for Wighton Architects which is very reassuring to hear. If you are considering appointing an architect for whatever work you’re undertaking, I wouldn’t recommend anybody else. Thank you Stuart & Amelia!
