Design project initially, up to planning application submission; to be followed by construction phase subject to planning approval. Good experience of consultation and exploration of options to arrive at design proposal as submitted. Definitely a collaborative, two-way process with exchange of ideas, comments and reworking to refine and conclude the design proposal. Look forward to moving on to next phase.

These guys built us a single story extension, knocked walls about, put up a new wall and re plastered walls and ceilings. Excellent work. All the lads were extremely friendly and helpful. I engaged A Space for a single story extension to my kitchen. They did a great job and throughout the build, which was completed on-time and on-budget, I was able to communicate with the company on issues that arose. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.

We were introduced to A Space Architects by some friends who had used them for a major extension to their period property. A Space had been responsible for both the design and the build of the project. We liked what we saw and our friends strongly recommended A Space/Jamie Ashton for both the architectural and build aspects. Our discussions with Jamie were very positive – he listened to what we wanted and introduced excellent input on both design and materials. Over quite an extended period we worked through an exchange of ideas and ultimately arrived at a design for a complete redesign (virtual rebuild) of our house that perfectly meets what we set out to achieve – and I have to say that we would not have arrived at the end design without the ideas, responsiveness and expertise of Jamie. We retained Jamie / A Space to handle the build with us directly paying for the build team and materials. This approach is less common than the more usual “all in” price for a build project but we found it to be very satisfactory as it gives total clarity as to where one’s money is going. Also, when there were the inevitable changes to details and specification introduced by us as the build progressed we could see that we were not being “overcharged” for changes/extras as can often be the case. We are extremely pleased with the end result. We have now been living in the “new” house for over a year and remain thrilled by what has been created.

Aspace designed and project managed the extension to the rear of our property (Rudston extension on their web site). We found them professional, consciencious and hard working. The result was something very special which came in on budget and ahead of time - you can't ask for more than that! Thanks Jamie and the team
