We came across Adam Fahey Design through other enquiries. From the very beginning we felt that Adam listened and fully grasped our brief for a growing family. He was very professional and knowledgeable in relation to all aspects of our bungalow conversion: design elements, materials we could use, identifying any limitations imposed by the building, planning applications, preparing documents for tendering and much more. We had never embarked on such a large project before but with Adam's help and guidance the process was smooth and stress free. All the work has now been successfully completed and we are very pleased with the results. Most of all, our children absolutely love the space he designed. Thank you Adam for making our house a lovely forever home.

I can't recommend Adam highly enough! He took the time to understand how we live and what exactly we were hoping for, in line with our budget. Adam produced a number of great options for our extension, and worked with us to finalise and submit our plans. He was highly responsive and very patient with us. He also recommended builders and has been very helpful in terms of answering queries/seeking advice during the build process.

We've been working with Adam for a couple of years. He has been instrumental in gaining planning permission, including advising us how to navigate the process. We have loved how Adam challenged our thinking but also took time to really understand our requirements to design our perfect home. We are very much looking forward to continuing to work with Adam during the build phase!

We went to Adam on a friend's recommendation after having tried to get a design for an extension and complete refurbishment over the line on several previous occasions with other professionals. He is like a breath of fresh air and combines all the qualities one could hope for when redesigning a home. Aside from a creative eye and understanding of the internal flow of a building; he took a real interest in what we wanted our home to feel like and how it would interact with the garden. He has a real understanding of materials and the construction process and because of this, a practical appreciation of costings and how and where savings could be made. His patience and good humour saw us through some tricky patches and his ability to work collaboratively with builders and understanding of the tender process, helped to smooth the whole process. We're now mid-build and we're looking forward to getting Adam back in to help with some final design decisions once the spaces have been brought to life. A personable person to work with but we lost confidence in the end product due to the designs not considering how a family would live,placing Pilar's in the middle of a lounge area, not able to give confidence over the amount of light coming through the design and having to adjust the design and cut a corner off at the last minute due not checking the 45 degree angle rule. We felt all the major design choices had to come from us. Overall a disappointing outcome that we don't trust will give us our dream layout.

Adam is a trustworthy professional who has great knowledge and experience in the area of design and build. He is positive, supportive and a great communicator. We thoroughly enjoyed working with him. We found his style to be collaborative and he was able to hear what we were looking for and offer solutions. We felt supported at each step - from Bat surveys to finding a good builder. We would recommend him highly to anyone who wants to be involved in the process of renovating their property!

Adam was constructive, creative in his work for us and helpful in recommending our construction partner. Costs rising thru discoveries and undiscussed details in the project made the process difficult at times due to a lack of overarching communication, but Adam's role was flawless and indeed our issues could well have been smoothed considerably had Adam been hired to Project Manage, which I would recommend if budget allows.

Gill and I began our long journey with Adam when we investigated modernising and extending a two bedroom bungalow. After initial discussion the consensus was to demolish the old building, design and erect a new dormer style bungalow on the plot. Quite an extensive undertaking which Adam guided us through. Adam translated our list of requirements and presented us with several design options including one developed from a Lego model we made. He patiently dealt with our questions and modified each design proposal appropriately not minding each time we changed our minds. Eventually we arrived at a design and Adam made the application for planning permission. Councils these days are overworked and planning applications can be difficult to see through. Adam through a combination of patience and persistence obtained planning permission from the council, the only delay was for a bat survey and a bit of pestering was needed to get final sign off. We found Adam easy to work with and welcomed his ideas and enthusiasm during planning so appointed him project manager. He helped us a lot with the detailed design advising on options for, bathrooms, windows, tiling and electrical layout. He has many trade contacts and was able to direct us to the right showrooms when we needed to view items. Adam helped overcome the inevitable problems that occurred during construction, not least of which was fitting the stairs. When Adam observed how well the house fitted onto the plot, blending with the street, I replied, “Yes, it’s almost like it was designed that way!” Thank you Adam for your contribution to what we believe is a brilliant modern dwelling that is energy efficient, environmentally friendly and meets all our requirements. Adam did a fantastic job helping us to re-design our 1960's house which was in need of a total refurbishment. He carefully listened to our brief and came up with lots of ideas which hadn't even occurred to us as possibilities. He was very professional and helpful at all times. Our builders were able to easily follow Adam's designs without issue and we changed very little at the build stage from Adam's original drawings. We now have a fantastic new single storey extension flooded with plenty of natural light (as requested) and we love our new space. The flow of the house is great, entirely due to Adam's clever design. It feels like a totally different house and it's provided us with a wonderful space for our family. We would highly recommend Adam!
