“I highly recommend David who designed and supervised the best conversion of a dark downstairs chicane of walk-in cupboards to a bright airy corridor, one side of which is floor to ceiling storage cubicles, with laundry room and a shower room on the opposite side. He listened to all our requests and had suggestions to suit all our requirements. We were also pleased with his recommendation of builder and that he could supervise the job. We were delighted from start to finish. A real professional !”

“We’ve worked successfully alongside award-winning architects, David Blaikie on a number of projects. Of particular note is their impressive level of creativity and willingness to push the boundaries in a positive way, to deliver contemporary designs that are not just unique but, from a construction point of view - ‘build-able.’ David Blaikie has just celebrated 25 years in architectural design and Mackenzie Hughes are delighted to wish them continued success for the future.’ Rory Forteath Director Mackenzie Hughes”

“Scott helped us redesign our house and he had so many ideas. He was friendly and helpful every time we spoke and really helped us understand the whole process. Jefcoate Anderson Architects Ltd
Architects in Athelstaneford, East Lothian
Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars4 October 2014
“We used Gavin Jefcoate to design our new kitchen extension and complete remodel of the downstairs of our home. It's nearly 3 years since work started and we are still as pleased with the results as we were when it was first completed. The initial meetings quickly demonstrated that Gavin understood our brief of what we wanted and why we needed it. The resulting plan was a really exciting change for the house with bold creative elements which also integrated the practical solutions that at the time we were desperate for. Throughout the build Jefcoate Anderson provided project management which took away most of the stresses that go hand in hand with altering any home to this extent. We are still hugely pleased with the results and would strongly recommend using this firm if you are considering a build project.”
2B Architects

Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars11 March 2016
“2B were commissioned to provide concept drawings and take the design to planning approval and subsequent building warrant issue. At all stages they were courteous, kept to appointments made and listened to our requirements. The designs produced were of a high standard and matched with what our expectations were. We wanted a shell provision for an extension and some internal alterations for a full house renovation and they have assisted in other aspects as part of the remit which has helped us tremendously. Would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone”
Urban Creatures
Architects in Athelstaneford, East Lothian
Average rating: 4 out of 5 stars5 February 2015
“We selected Martin and Louise from Urban Creatures to design and manage the build of our house because we liked their portfolio and found that they understood our brief. As a result, the design process of the house did not take long and they provided many good ideas. Obtaining planning permission for our house was quite problematic, but Urban Creatures were very professional in dealing with the planning department. Despite them working to our budget, the quotes from the builders were at least 1/3 above our budget, which led to some changes and omissions. But at least that saved us from a lot of nasty surprises once the building work started. Urban Creatures supervised the whole building process and we had fortnightly meetings with both Urban Creatures and the builder to discuss progress and issues. Again, this was done in a very professional manner. Overall, we are very happy with the service provided by Urban Creatures. We would recommend them to others and would not hesitate to use them again.”
