There were 3 phases to this project. The first was to remodel an historic old home into a beautiful cozy gatehouse that would become fully equipped with such amenities as gourmet kitchen yet retain all of its original character. Located at the entrance to our property adjacent to a mountain stream, the Oxman firm transformed a run down farm house into a lovely modernized home. The second phase was to design a lake which the eventual large log home would overlook. Finally, the log home itself was designed. We initially met for 2 full days and spent over 20 hours on preliminary sketches. Taking hand hewn logs from a 200 year old barn these would form the core of a gorgeous structure that has 3 main bedrooms, an apartment over a 3 car garage, exercise and game rooms, a wine room, a second 3 car garage for antique car projects, an indoor heated pool, a gourmet Tuscan kitchen, and a Great Room with massive stone and log fireplace. All of this taking in 360 degree views in a Little Switzerland setting. One of the things I am most impressed with is the initial time spent with owner/developer to go onsite equipped with exact topographic details and the time spent revising the initial sketching until we are satisfied.”
