Working with Michael on our project, Slatewater, was a most rewarding and enjoyable experience. His combination of architectural skills and knowledge with the ability to listen to our ideas and suggestions was fantastic. From inception to completion, knowing Michael had a strong hold on project management was very reassuring. We would strongly recommend Michael and his team to anyone looking to create their own unique and special home.

I am so pleased I asked Julie-Ann to design the refurbishment of my house. From the Dormer extension for the master bedroom suite, to redesigning the kitchen and dining room to make one big open plan room, to the ground floor shower room and utility and even redesigning the patio area, Julie-Ann and her team have through their knowledge, experience and attention to the smallest detail, given me a beautiful home. Julie-Ann and her team are lovely, nothing is ever too much trouble. If you want an Architect who will design you something really special then In Ex Design is that company. After years of compromises and 'un-connected make-overs' we decided we needed a completely fresh approach to making our home more accessible as well as providing private areas to create some 'personal space' in our busy lives. After discussing practicalities and alternative lay-outs with several professionals, we appointed Mark and Nick to undertake a full refurbishment of our 6,000sqft home in West London. From the outset they worked collaboratively, with us. They incorporated our requirements into a stunning design proposal that surpassed our expectations. As well as scoping likely budget needs, they clearly explained the process for how the works would be undertaken. We discussed associated timescales for each stage and, amazingly, they introduced us to their professional contacts to support the project. All of this was unexpected and thus was incredibly reassuring. They were very knowledgeable regarding the challenging Planning constraints and managed the necessary applications on our behalf. The process from start to finish felt extremely well managed and the finished result is a testament to the added value that Mark and Nick brought to the project with their measured approach, experience and design expertise. An understatement to say they 'went the extra mile'! A well earned 5 Star rating. We would thoroughly recommend them!

We have just received planning permission for our internal reconfiguration which Simon has designed for us. He visited us on several occasions and helped us to see the potential in our property exploring all the options available. Together we talked through how we want to use the house and we have used every pocket of space to reach that potential. Simon has been friendly and accommodating throughout and he has kept in touch regularly. He talked us through the planning process and kept us updated whilst successfully securing planning permission. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Simon, he is a highly skilled architect and we thoroughly enjoyed working with him. Many thanks Simon!

A really outstanding business. We used the team at Woodford to help us update an old Rectory we had purchased. Gavin developed the new design for our kitchen, en-suite master bedroom and two other bathrooms. He picked up very cleverly on existing design elements of the original Georgian rectory and incorporated these into a modern but appropriate twist for the new designs. We ended up following all Sarah's proposals for flooring, wall colours, kitchen & bathroom fixtures & fittings. She also developed beautiful ideas for curtains and roman-blinds and was able to recommend a great local company who provided the fabrication (and who did a really good job on this). In summary, their advice and professionalism was wide-ranging, great value-for-money and time-generous. Gavin & Sarah and the team at Woodford absolutely exceeded our expectations.

A friendly and professional practice - a pleasure to work with. Impressive timber frame design knowledge and excellent communication made this project an absolute joy - we hope to work with you again soon. So successful was this partnership that we've been jointly shortlisted for 'Best Oak Frame' at the Build It Awards 2014 - fingers crossed! Photo Credits: van Ellen + Sheryn

Excellent dialogue between client and architect throughout the project. Always attempting to incorporate client's ideas into the design. Constant follow up throughout the project and excellent dialogue with builders and other craftsmen involved in the project.

Our restoration project evolved into a very special experience for all the team involved. Kirsty Curnow Bailey was recommended to us by a local buildings surveyor and we arranged an initial 2 hour meeting. The 'cost' to us was a donation to Kirsty's favourite charity. We gelled almost immediately and the journey began. We were involved at every part of the design stage and our ideas were blended with Kirsty's practicality and imagination. She lead the negotiations with the National Park planners and the conservation officer with great professionalism. She introduced us to two building companies and we were pleased to award the job to RM Builders in Tavistock. I year later the works began. The restoration took 16 months and involved a complete reroofing , new external lime render, major lath and plaster internal restoration and a full replumb and rewire. Kirsty was ever-present and chaired site meetings every 2 weeks. The budget was observed closely and contingency added at 2 different stages. Underground drainage works were a major additional cost and could not have been fully predicted at the outset. The build quality was exactly as requested and Kirsty was adamant that the planned standards were fully met. Discoveries on the way included a 1500 carved granite fireplace in the main room, finding a 3rd staircase inside a 5 foot rubble wall and opening up the blocked cross passage in the centre of the house. The oldest timbers exposed during the works date back to the 1300's! Kirsty was pivotal in returning our home to its current condition, blending very old with contemporary and very modern. We are delighted with the result and we would recommend Living Space Architects to any prospective clients. Everything now works 100%, the building breathes again and will be on track for the next 100yrs for sure. Thanks Kirsty Geoff and Sue

Mr Robertson was worth every penny! He was instrumental in guiding us through many hoops when it came to renovating our listed cottage. He was able to give us good ideas and took the heat out of all the overwhelming paperwork that was essential for the job. He liaised with Exmoor Park and was able to deal with any hiccups in a calm and professional way. He was always polite and explained things to us in layman terms when necessary. Mr Robertson worked to our finances and was always "on the case" as it were. Without him, the cottage would not look as stunning as it is today.

Mike Bacon turn a rather horrible house in a beautiful setting into a really lovely house. The whole house was refurbished. Mike turned it upside down and reconfigured it so that it completely met the requirements of our family. This was not an easy task and he came up with ingenious solutions for several things such as how to move a staircase into the right place to make the whole house work. We now have a fabulous home with a 27 foot lounge looking over the sea, and a kitchen diner that can sit 12 round the table and still not feel crowded. Mike was very good at working with us to deliver what we wanted - but also to make it really special. These were his ideas! And he dealt brilliantly with Parish Council and planning issues. Advised us on what was possible and this saved us a lot of time and money not trying to achieve what would have been unacceptable to the planners. He also sorted out the dangerous and multilevel garden. Now safe and easy to use and enjoy. We love our home, it is special and the whole family continues to love using it. It just works for us!
