“Without Jack my house would never have been built. We needed to tuck this little house into a narrow urban lot in a Historic District and make it look like it was always there. We survived 7! public hearings with heavy revision. Jack remained true to my original vision while accommodating the requirements of many other visions of what my house needed to be. His price was fair, his manner engaging and open. My house won an award and i gained a valued friend. He and and his staff are the best architectural firm ever.”

“We were extremely pleased with Joana's service. Her knowledge, creativity, and most of all patience was hugely helpful as we planned and designed our home addition/remodeling project. Joana was able to provide her help from the conceptualization of our project through to the negotiation with our contractors which was invaluable given our inexperience with this type of project. Her assistance and persistence in liaising with the contractors alone was worth every penny! It was a pleasure to work with Joana, even our 3 year old looked forward to her visits to talk through her ideas, the plans. I would say that Joana's biggest strengths are her professionalism, detail oriented nature, patience, and creativity. “Be assured that you will be in excellent hands with Stacy at SKM Design. We can not recommend her highly enough! We did not use an architect or designer for our previous 2 renovations and I wish we had known Stacy then. We literally have no regrets with the layout or design choices in our current house. We have a 1920’s traditional colonial and she was excellent at marrying the character of our older home with today’s modern amenities. She leaves no stone unturned, keeps her eyes on the budget, works quickly, is a task master and will come up with a design plan that fits your lifestyle and budget. Stacy will also help you refine or identify your aesthetic if you don’t already have one. For our renovation, she facilitated the bidding process and managed our project every step of the way. She was able to recommend 3 builders for the bidding and a slew of tradespeople. She‘s also a joy to work with and an outstanding human being- you will love having her around.”

“We have used Julia Metcalf Architecture and Interior Design for two different projects - an office renovation and a large scale home remodel. Both projects had major architectural and interior design elements. Julia was very easy to work with, and we found her communication skills, both with us and with our contractor, to be exceptional. Everything was very clear and concise. She really understood our design aesthetic, and how to work that into both our home and our office. She was respectful and appreciative of our suggestions, and very conscientious of our budget. Julia has great suggestions on where to splurge and where you can save some money in different areas of each project. In our commercial project, she was extremely knowledgable and meticulous about meeting all various ADA and IBC codes. “Our experience with Don was great from start to finish. Before designing the house we built, he traveled 4 hours to visit the site of the house taking pictures from all angles to determine how best to situate the house on the lot. During the design process, he would take the time to show us things in his own house to compare with what was on the plans. It gave us a better sense of how the plans would translate when we built. After construction started, he was readily available to answer any questions we had about the construction as well as to speak with the builder. His experience with building is a huge asset when it comes to translating the design into a finished product. All in all, our experience was great and we couldn't be happier with the home he designed for us. We highly recommend Don.”
