Are plans were to rebuild an old farmhouse that had been in the family for three generations. We needed to be respectful to the original building whilst providing a modern house using the latest building materials and techniques. Croft Architecture had the technical knowledge, vision, expertise and patience to ensure our ambitious family home became a reality.

We highly recommend Andrew, we are absolutely thrilled with our new extension. Andrew listened to our needs to create a beautiful new downstairs family space and upstairs bedroom/ensuite that completely exceeded our expectations. We've found him to be very approachable and professional. The process of gaining planning permission went smoothly thanks to Andrew. He is excellent at communicating with clients and kept in constant touch throughout the project which we really appreciated.

Philip was from the first appointment the architect for us, this being our first large renovation it was important to get things right. Philip was enthusiastic, full of great ideas and also listened to our requirements out of the project. He was very quick to send through computer images that we could add notes for him to edit which he completed the same day, a total of 7 drafts were done until we applied for planning which we achieved first time! Would 100% recommend. Adrian

The service we received was exceptional. Simon was professional, knowledgeable, and listened to exactly what we wanted to do. He ensured every aspect of our project was dealt with, from start to finish, smoothly and efficiently. He took all the stress out of every step of the process. Once we were ready to proceed he had recommendations and ideas of where and who we could contact, to help us get the building work underway. Nothing was ever too much trouble. We would highly recommend Design Solutions and would certainly use them again if we required any further work.

"I am currently working with James on a demanding residential project. The project has been subject to substantial changes during the build period. James's enthusiasm, knowledge, drive and professionalism has been a key factor in helping drive the project forward, achieving demanding targets along the way. James has been particularly helpful with key elements not in his original scope of services. I would have no hesitation recommending James and the Team for similar, unique, residential schemes"

When we moved into our" tired" 1920s cottage we could see it had potential, needed updating and the current layout didn`t flow however we really didn`t know where to start. James had done an excellent job for me designing an extension on a previous property( Wychwood Cottage, Oakhill) so without hesitation we knew he was the right person to help us with this project too. He listened to what we wanted from our home and on visiting immediately saw the solutions. He split the work into 3 phases and advised us of the order to do. As we are living in the property this provided the benefit of concentrating on one area at time, thereby allowing better control of our budget and securing the finish of one phase before moving one to the next and enabling a break between phases to restore our sanity rather than having to live on a building site for months on end and the risk of going over budget and unable to complete any areas. The first 2 phases were reconfiguring the current cottage to make full use of the space available. The 3 rd phase is an optional extra : the addition of an orangery which would increase space and enhance the current cottage and wonderful views it affords. We have now completed phase 1 which has most definitely provided the Cottage with the "Wow " factor achieved by knocking the existing back room and kitchen into a light airy kitchen/ diner with a working area flexible dining area and retaining the log burner and chilling out area with sofas. Altering the position of the door to the previously messy utility room has enabled a shower room with toilet to be put in whilst till retaining laundry facility, storage and space for the dogs. A stable door through optimises light and views but provides the option that any mess can be hidden if necessary! It really is a lovely space and so flexible now - all our visitors are amazed at the difference and love the light and airy homely feel. W are about to embark on phase 2 which involves swapping a bedroom and family bathroom. The bathroom will then be above the utility room which also houses the boiler with the outcome of a larger 3rd bedroom and all the unsightly pipework at the back of the house will disappear as all water and waste will be on one side of the building. Thank you James your are a true inspiration!

It has been great working with Architecture Unknown, the final outcome is a fantastic-looking building that will serve as a brillant Scouts HQ and community resource. AU’s Wikihouse design enabled us to keep costs down by using volunteers for some of the assembly work as well as allowing community involvement in the construction.

We wanted to extend our small kitchen in our 1930's house to include a large dining area which gave easy access to the outside and brought in more light. Mr Hough delivered an exceptional design within our budget which was modern in construction but still was in keeping with the overall style and age of our house. There was a smooth transition from design, project management and build due to the provision of detailed drawing which clearly specificed all the materials for our builders. We were delighted with the results Mr & Mrs Strang
