“Jim Gempeler of GMK is an extremely talented designer. He originally designed a house for us 25 years ago. Then we had him build an addition. The design, flow and process was seamless. He incorporated the beauty of the outdoors throughout. He is very creative and innovative. Yet sensitive to the tastes, preferences and budget of the client. He is versatile as well, creating designs that reflect the culture and natural setting of very different regions of the country. We could not be happier with the result. “We built a new home with the design help of John Melby. He was terrific! He had a lot of great ideas that others had not thought of, kept our construction budget constraints in mind throughout the process, and was extremely fast and responsive. John was able to listen to our ideas and “get on the same page” almost instantly, staying true to our desired style and function. If we build again or even remodel we will definitely use Melby Design.”

“I had a great experience working with Tony. Instead of just replacing my cabinets and countertops, Tony was able to design a beautiful and functional space that now has specific zones for cooking, dining and entertaining. The flow of the room is open to the great room which improved the entire space. The sight lines were changed to maximize the natural light and take advantage of the beautiful views of Lake Michigan. Tony worked within my budget and listened to my desires and goals. He suggested changes that I didn't think were possible. These changes made a huge difference in the outcome of the design. The end result reflects my personality, and still retains the architecture style of my 1970's era home. My favorite aspect of the entire experience was that he listened to my needs. He designed the space with my interest and goals in mind. I highly recommend Tony Walker, Architect & Associates, LLC to anyone interested in a home remodel.”
