Architects in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

“We’ve worked with Tony Ryder twice now, and each time has been an absolute delight. He understood our briefs straight away and developed some really thoughtful, beautifully considered concepts that felt spot‑on for what we needed. Tony has a great way of working with you and guiding you through the more complex parts of the process — especially building control — making everything feel clear and manageable rather than overwhelming. Professional, creative, and genuinely easy to work with. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.”

“We moved into an old Victorian terrace in 2022 and immediately began to search for architects for our project. We planned for a loft conversion with a rear dormer, an internal reorganization of rooms on the first floor that would require the moving of walls and dropping of floor levels, and the refurb of the rest of the property – with us living there at the same time! All of this with a view of achieving a sympathetic restoration that would retain, and in some instances return the property to the original Victorian format. We searched for architects with not only a keen eye for style, but also an appreciation of what we wanted to achieve, and necessary expertise to manage the project through to completion. We’re extremely fortunate to have found Raydan Watkins! We began working with Richard and Dana in 2023, with their expertise guiding us through the process of planning permission consent in a conservation area, rounds of tendering for building contractors, and then the management of the project itself. Throughout, Richard and Dana were responsive, patient, and considerate of our opinions. They helped to keep the project on track, despite unforeseen challenges that seem to lurk beneath the fabric of most old properties. We have ended up with the house of our dreams. Subtle architectural considerations of light and sight-lines within the house have opened up the space and created additional room without impacting on the perceived size of rooms. Features have been retained, and the choice of materials ensuring that the changes blend seamlessly into the house, giving the impression that they have always been there – we’re delighted. I would highly recommend Richard and Dana for your project!”

“Recently worked with Tom and his team on a residential project. I have worked with a few architects over the years in commercial and residential and a common trait is doing the bare minimum. By this I mean doing what was asked and no more. On several fronts Tom's team did more than asked by providing a fast and efficient service but more importantly they came up with solutions and ideas we had not thought of or considered and they were excellent.”
