Born out of a construction company, we know how to get buildings from the drawing board to completion.Our strengths lie in a knowledge and experience of construction and development. It is these skills that allow us to bridge the gap from imagination to reality; something that other companies sometimes struggle to achieve. Having delivered a vast number of well-received schemes, we have a strong reputation with local planning authorities for well thought out, quality projects. Steven is the head of the practice. He specializes in Urban Design, Master Planning and Technical Design as well as overseeing the day to day running to the practice. He has a keen interest in Conservation, Social Sustainability and Landscape Design. He is a chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects. Steven studied at the University of Lincoln where he gained his Bachelor of Arts Honors Degree in Architecture and also at the University of Greenwich where he gained a Diploma in Architecture and Urban Design. With over 10 years experience in practice Steven worked for a number of well established practices in East Anglia as an Assistant Architect and eventually became a Project Architect with his own small team of technicians. Responsible for projects ranging from £80,000 to £25million and specialising in residential schemes he also took charge of numerous commercial, retail and education projects, as well as acting as an in-house technical consultant on more specialist projects. First Established in 2008 as a drawing office offering design services to developers and private clients, in the spring of 2011 we transformed ourselves into Clayland Architects, a chartered practice registered with the Royal Institute of British Architects. We practice as Architects and Master Planners undertaking projects across a broad spectrum of building and urban design, conservation work and rural development. While undertaking a large proportion of work for private projects, our client base includes housing associations, schools and private developers across East Anglia including commercial development.
