“Stu Kent was the lead architect on our Whistler Vacation Home project. He worked closely with us to make changes to an initial concept design, including increasing the scale of the project by nearly 50%. We found Stu a great listener, taking full account of what we were looking to achieve with the design and not forcing us into decisions we were not yet comfortable with. This was very important given this was our first experience with building a home. Stu also made significant valuable recommendation with respect to the interior layout and design of the finished spaces, working very effectively, and in a coordinated manner, with the interior designer, builder and project manager. In fact, all those related to the project commented how much he added to the project, above and beyond what other architects may contribute and that their interactions with Stu were very positive, well coordinated and significantly beneficial to the overall project. With respect to cost management, we believe Stu particularly excelled in identifying opportunities to achieve cost efficiencies while remaining true to our desired final design. Throughout the project, he would work closely with the builder and other stakeholders to identify potential cost savings or design enhancements. He pro-actively communicates with all stakeholders, including, importantly, the owners. We have no hesitation in recommending Stu for any projects or roles that he may have an opportunity to work on in the future.””

“We have worked with Emerald Arcitects for 5 years as main contractors to some of their clients based in the North East of England. Whilst we are currently extending a mid century modern house, our most recently completed project with them was a barn conversion to a holiday let which involved green enery tech such as underfloor heating, solar panels and harnessing power from a wind turbine. The client's brief was to have the most energy efficient build possible within a 10 month timeframe. Emerald and ourselves worked hard to achieve this and ultimately the project was awarded an A rating for energy efficiency - exceeding the client's expectations. As well as bringing a wealth of architectural experience and a confident, professional approach, Siobhan and Ciaran also bring wit and warmth to a project, making working with them a real pleasure. Siobhan and Ciaran mediate the client/ contractor / architect relationship with huge integrity, instilling confidence in all parties and making the project a positive experience for everybody involved. They regularly visit site to monitor progress and are always available for discussion. We have found Emerald open to suggestions and highly proactive and practical in their approach to tackling potential building issues which makes our work so much easier. We can't recommend Emerald highly enough - we have huge confidence in them and look forward to many more sucessful projects and happy clients.”
