About Us

Jonathan Clark Architects are an award winning, enthusiastic, innovative and widely published practice providing a high degree of attention and expertise to each individual client. Approach: As a result of close collaboration between client, architect, consultants and contractor, each finished scheme is totally unique and individually tailored to meet our client's original vision. We have developed long-term relationships with many of our clients by first understanding their needs and operations and then by looking beyond the ordinary to produce architecture and interiors that not only meet our clients' needs and brief but also exceed their expectations. We listen to our clients rather than imposing a style or fixed approach upon them. Our aim is to produce buildings that our clients can enjoy and be inspired by as well as live or work in comfortably. Process: With every new project we will take on board each client's aims, visions and concerns and translate these into initial design scheme options for discussion and feedback. Once the outline scheme is agreed, we develop the proposals further with the aid of three-dimensional drawings for client agreement/comments through to an agreed detailed construction scheme that can be tendered and built at the right price by a trusted contractor – there are a number that we regularly work with.

Superb architect. I have worked on a number of residential projects with Jonathan and he is just all round good. His designs are stunning and his thinking is sharp. He is good at resolving the construction issues and realistic with budget. Definitely recommend.

Jonathan did an excellent job. The project came in on budget even though there were some unexpected things that came up along the way - not to do with Jonathan but to do with previous works done on the building – which was quite some achievement. He managed the builders very well, and gave excellent after sales service without charge. I would recommend him highly.

"Jonathan’s ideas and designs to accommodate our brief worked perfectly. He managed to accomplish everything we wanted - in fact more so than I could have imagined. What I particularly liked was how he listened to my ideas and incorporated them into his. I really enjoyed working with Jonathan, he was fully committed to the entire process from first drafts right through to the end result and his attention to detail is remarkable

The job Jonathan did for us was brilliant! As a photographer I really appreciate the work he did to maximise the light in our previously very dark kitchen as well as making a design feature out of an otherwise awkward and uninspiring shaped space. To illustrate the transformation, our 'new' kitchen has subsequently proved itself more than suitable as a stylish shoot location, while still being a working, family kitchen.

Working with Jonathan was a real pleasure. His ideas are creative yet pragmatic and he ensured the budget was spent wisely where it had the most impact. He patiently incorporated my many and frequently changing ideas whilst guiding my decisions to ensure a cohesive look. What could have been a stressful project was a pleasure for me as he took responsibility for all aspects as if he were the owner himself. I would highly recommend Jonathan.

My terraced house needed major refurbishment: new kitchen; new bathroom and new shower room. Other rooms also needed attention eg new floors and decoration. Jonathan, as architect and overseer of the project, was incredibly patient, went through options with me, listened to what I wanted and transformed it into something much more imaginative and beautiful than I could have created myself. He was prompt in answering my millions of questions and kept to the budget for the original plan while allowing for a few changes of mind on my part. The builders took longer than planned but Jonathan made sure I was compensated and the result was worth waiting for. Many years on, the design still looks fresh and new.

Jonathan's inspirational design and close attention to detail was an enjoyable and hassle-free experience, the end result a family home that is a delight to live in. He incorporated all our lifestyle requirements into a unique vision for the house, maintained exactly the right level of communication throughout, and managed the weekly site meetings with a degree of professionalism and efficiency that ensured I was only ever as involved as I wanted to be.
