“A wonderful architect and a genuinely personal service Choosing Ben Liddle from Edge AD, was the best decision we made in our large renovation project. What immediately stood out was the depth and quality of his personal service. Ben didn't simply come in, measure the house and start drawing plans. He took the time to get to know us as people — importantly where we were in our lives, our priorities, how we wanted to live in our home and what mattered to us. He carried out a remarkably detailed survey of the property and took the trouble to meet with us several times at home. His approach was relaxed, patient and never rushed. Through thoughtful and careful questioning, he teased out ideas that we hadn't always been able to articulate ourselves. He then translated these into a number of different design options, giving us the opportunity to explore what worked best for us that were aligned with our budget. As our ideas changed and developed, Ben was incredibly patient, meeting us many times at our home, and always willing to revise and refine the designs with us. We certainly never felt that we were simply another project on his books. One of the things that made the whole experience so much less stressful was Ben's recommendation of our builder. He introduced us to a wonderful, highly skilled and communicative builder and Ben remained in close contact with the builder throughout, helping to ensure that the project stayed true to the design, and managed the issues as they arose. That continuity was invaluable. He genuinely was invested in achieving the right result for us. Ben also made very helpful introductions to suppliers for things such as our kitchen and tiles. These recommendations saved us considerable time and, as a bonus, we were able to benefit from discounts through his introductions. Most importantly, we absolutely love what Ben designed for us. His designs are beautiful, but they are also incredibly practical. He understood how to make the most of the space we had and managed to create a home that feels both spacious and that we are proud of. We would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Ben and EdgeAD. His architectural skill is excellent, but it is his personal approach, attention to detail and commitment to his clients that really sets him apart. We are extremely grateful for everything he did for us and delighted with the home he helped us create. Mike and Audrey Ho”

“I’d recommend Unity for any house renovation work big or small. We’ve recently had them complete a full downstairs renovation project. This included, a rewire, underfloor heating, structural work, replaster, kitchen, toilet fit, new glazing and much more. All aspects of this work were done to a really high standard. All the men that work for Unity respected our home so well and they made it possible for us to continue to live in the space whilst working around us. Any problems that occurred were responded to quickly and Elliot sat down and worked through solutions that made us feel comfortable. We will hopefully use them again to tackle our next phase of the renovation and would like to thank everyone in the team who were involved in making our house the home it is. Lucy, Paul and Eric”

“We recently had the pleasure of working with Niell on three separate projects, and the experience has been outstanding on every front. Whether it was designing a new 4-bedroom house, converting our garage into a self-contained annex, or expanding our home with a two-storey extension, Niell's professionalism, expertise, and collaborative approach have been invaluable throughout each stage. New 4-Bedroom House From the very beginning, Niell demonstrated exceptional foresight and dedication when designing our 4-bedroom house. Despite the planning challenges due to the proximity to our existing home and neighbouring property, Niell handled the complexities with remarkable patience and skill. His clear architectural vision helped us navigate these challenges with ease, working tirelessly with local planning officers to ensure the house could be built exactly where we had envisioned. The end result is a home that is both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional, perfectly balancing beauty and practicality. Garage to Annex Conversion When it came to converting our large double garage into a 4-bedroom annex, Niell’s attention to detail and deep understanding of the structural challenges were instrumental in making the project a success. He skilfully worked with the existing structure, ensuring the new design was not only thermally efficient but also visually cohesive with the rest of the property. His thoughtful approach to retaining the original external walls, coupled with a smart new design, helped us save costs while improving energy performance. Niell was always accessible, responsive to our feedback, and worked seamlessly with the structural engineer and other consultants, keeping the project on track. Two-Storey Extension Our two-storey extension project involved replacing an old pool house with a 140sqm addition to our home, and Niell’s input was crucial in making this vision a reality. The project was particularly challenging due to the unique nature of our home, which was a combination of two old farmhouses with uneven floor levels and a large central chimney. Niell’s creative and structural solutions helped integrate the new extension with the existing home seamlessly. He provided excellent visual illustrations of design concepts, making it easy for us to understand and make decisions. His expertise in handling regulatory issues, improving insulation, and keeping us within budget was invaluable. The finished extension feels like it was always part of the house, and we’ve received numerous compliments from family, friends, and neighbours. In all three projects, his responsiveness, technical knowledge, and dedication to delivering high-quality work on time and within budget have made him someone we would recommend for any architectural project. We’re thrilled with the outcomes and look forward to working with Niell during the builds.”
