Mike Tuck Studio Architects

In a word, Mike was terrific! We undertook a full house renovation in our terraced house in Greenwich. We were prepared for stress, cost-overruns and problems - as we know very little about construction and even less about architecture. Mike was recommended by a friend and we had seen the great job he did for them, so we reached out to him. From the first meeting it was abundantly clear that he was the right architect for us. Mike was calm, reasonable, and practical. He listens carefully and where we didn't have ideas, he would suggest. Where we were clear what we wanted, he would find ways to make it happen. He dealt with the builders/contractor, all the permissions and the bills, making sure we were never over charged. And, being vigilent, he caught a couple of places where over-charging would have happened! Our house was completed nearly on time with 0 cost over-runs. And we were thrilled with the result. Mike is genuinely terrific and comes with our highest recommendation.

We worked with Mike on plans for a single storey rear and two storey side extension of our home. From first contact, Mike was a pleasure to deal with and extremely professional. He took time to get to know us, our property, and our aspirations. Through his creative suggestions and working closely with us, he shaped a detailed set of plans that we were very excited by. His continued advice helped us through the tender process and he was more than happy to meet prospective contractors with us. We found Mike extremely trustworthy, transparent, and personable in all our interactions and a sharp creative mind with a fantastic eye for detail. I would whole heartedly recommend Mike and his team and hope to work with him again in the future!

We met Mike a few years ago so he could design us a garden studio at our house in Cambridge and he ended up re-designing the whole downstairs of our house too. Mike Tuck Studio took a thorough approach to our project and made sure that the end result was exactly what we wanted. Mike in particular really understood both what we wanted to achieve and the kind of aesthetic design we were after. Mike Tuck Studio also helped us keep on top of the budget as we went through the design process, making sure that we understood the cost implications of the decisions we made as we went along so that we didn't have any unpleasant surprises. They worked well with our contractors, and helped project manage the work. The project was complete to the day that it was meant to finish.

We picked Mike and his team as they came highly recommended and seemed to have a taste and aesthetic that we were aligned with. We were not disappointed - working with Mike Tuck has been a pleasure from beginning to end. Mike was heavily involved through out the project, ensuring that everything was of the highest quality with intense attention to detail. Mike led a lot of tricky initiatives, among them a very ambitious custom designed mega chimney and a wood clad dormer build-out - all of which turned out beautifully. The final project ended up very close to Mike Tuck Studio's initial drawings and we couldn't be happier with the house. I would never hesitate to recommend Mike Tuck and I am constantly looking for ways to involve him in future work. He's not only incredibly detail oriented, professional, knowledgable (and timely), he and his team are also very warm and positive people - a joy to work with over an extended period of time.
