SCD designs were totally brilliant in designing the revamp of our 1930’s house to provide the space we needed whilst creating a modern, light and comfortable home. Sue’s attention to detail was vital as were her ideas as to how we could materially change the house. She was super efficient but at the same time a delight to deal with.

Sue Cambie is very clever - transforming my dingy basement flat into an amazing light filled flat that makes everyone gasp when they enter. She totally delivered on all elements on my wish list, and over delivered on things that were not even in the brief. The materials are all beautiful, everyone loves the feature slate wall lit with square up-lighters. The varied ceiling levels and void helps create the feeling of light and airiness, and the internal courtyard provides beautiful daylight and very dramatic evening light into both the dining room and kitchen. Every detail works perfectly together, from the special square kitchen lights set in a line echoing the tall floor to ceiling windows, to the low level light in the shower making the water sparkle. I can now sit comfortably in the living room and see straight through the house to admire the wonderful back garden, and the sliding glass windows give the whole house an inside-outside flow. Sue was great working to budgets and deadlines making the whole process pain-free.

Sue Cambie did a fantastic job turning our house from something drab, badly arranged and frankly depressing into a light, bright, spacious contemporary home. All of her ideas worked brilliantly, and she has increased the sense of space more that I would have believed possible. The master bedroom in the attic with its really cool walk-in-wardrobe, bright en-suite and use of exposed brick brings a ‘wow’ factor that all visitors comment on. We've now got three double bedrooms, 2 reception rooms, lots of storage and a house that really feels much bigger than it is. We are really happy and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending her!

SCD stealthily plugged into my vision for the property and were able to expand upon and develop exactly the kind of style I was seeking to achieve. SCD's enthusiasm, commitment and attention to detail drove the project forward from start to finish. SCD's work encompassed such a huge variety of tasks: from obtaining planning and building control permission, co-ordinating structural engineers and party wall surveyors, producing an array of technical drawings, to scrutinising paint/tile/fabric samples, selecting furniture and managing the work of the builders and the contract. Their contribution, at every stage and in every aspect, was never less than brilliant. And there is absolutely no doubt that, without them, I would not be in such a magnificent property. When it comes to my next project, be it commercial or residential, there is no question that they will be the first on board.
