RD Glass is the business name of Roxanne Denny, a glass artist who designs and makes each piece by hand. She works from her home studio in the Lake District, Cumbria.
Her fused glass pieces start out as flat sheets of glass, which she cuts and layers on top of each other, before melting or 'fusing' them together in a kiln. This could be anywhere from four to forty different sections of glass. Some pieces are ground and polished before or after they are fused and they will need to undergo up to four firings before they are finished. Any shaped pieces are 'slumped' into or over a mould in a separate firing.

Waternook is an exclusive super-luxury destination on Ullswater in The Lake District. Boasting sleek sophisticated interior styling and perfectionist attention to detail Waternook offers the very highest standards of luxury and that is why we approached Roxy, as a local artist, to make us a bespoke piece for our Spa and Wellness Sanctuary’s wet room. The mirror Roxy has created for Waternook is not only functional but is a wonderful piece of art that is completely unique and all will enjoy. We cannot recommend Roxy highly enough and commend her on her extraordinary talents.

From start to finish, Roxy provided an excellent service. Her initial design ideas were great and she was so responsive to any comments/suggestions i made along the way, adapting the design accordingly. As such, i ended up with an original piece of work which was exactly what i wanted and is beautiful. I would love to commission more work in the future - thank you Roxy for all your work.

Having just had our cloakroom redecorated, I wanted a statement piece to go on the wall. I was familiar with Roxy's work and thought one of her glass pictures would be perfect. I was not disappointed! I gave her an idea of colours that we would like but was happy to leave the design to her. She gave us a choice of 4 designs and would have altered them if necessary but we loved them all and had a job to decide which one to go ahead with. Suffice to say it exceeded all expectations and looks beautiful. The light shining through the piece creating reflections behind it was unexpected but just adds to it. I would thoroughly recommend RD Glass for the quality of work and the fact that we have a 'one off' piece of art for a very reasonable cost. Thanks Roxy!

I commissioned a larger, adapted version of a glass bowl in Roxanne's range, and eight glass coasters of two completely new designs I wanted, all by email. Total cost was £140. She responded quickly in all communicatons, from general enquiry to detail to final design, with suggestions and advice. She was professional, helpful and friendly, and kept me informed at all stages of the process right up to delivery tracking.
The products are of high quality and look beautiful - the colours are so vivid and satisfying. The bowl is a lovely centrepiece on its own without anything on it.
Really recommend RD Glass - we saw her work first at a local arts and crafts fair and liked it immediately and bought a blue/green glass bowl. You can't beat individually produced artwork by independent craftspeople.

Commented: DESIGN DILEMMA!.. Layout for open plan living spaceOf these two I would go for the first as it keeps the room more open. The sofas in the second layout are blocking off that corner of the room somewhat.

Commented: Seating in a modern kitchen - quirky booths or classic dining chairs?Definitely a table and chairs, as others have said they are much more versatile depending on the number of guests etc.

Commented: Wallpaper in a kitchen??I agree with Ellie that I certainly wouldn't want any near the sink/oven/food prep areas. Although I don't think I would go for it I can see it working further away in a kitchen.
