Ruth Swain Portrait Artist

Ruth did a double portrait of my husband playing the piano and me (a reluctant subject) standing beside the piano. We were overawed by the finished painting as indeed is everybody who has since seen it. One friend in particular was very emotionally moved by how closely and sensitively Ruth has captured us. We feel privileged to have been painted by Ruth and simply can't recommend her highly enough.

Ruth painted a portrait of my Jack Russell, Ting Ting, for a special birthday gift. Ruth is a fantastic artist , her painting of Ting is brilliant and very much admired by all who see it. The portrait is incredibly true to life and most importantly, captures the personality of my little dog, right down to the twinkle in her eye! I have seen other examples of Ruth's work, many of her portraits are of people, including children. These are also wonderful and if I could I would commission her to do the entire family and all the pets.

Ruth painted very large portraits of both my children, as a surprise present for my husband. She took lots of photographs of them and then painted the portraits. We are absolutely delighted with them as they are so life-like and capture their characters too! We will keep them for the rest of our lives and remember that period of the children's lives! I have seen other portraits that Ruth has painted and they capture the person completely - both how they look and who they are.
