Kasey Thompson is a Boise, Idaho-based entrepreneur and is the Chief Executive Officer of Freight Brokerage TNT Logistics Inc as well as Stone Creek Development LLC. He is a graduate of Boise State University where he earned his MBA in International Business and Marketing, Kasey became a millionaire by the time he was 28. This accomplishment was only one of many that would mark his long and illustrious career. These same skills have made Kasey sought after by a number of Fortune 500 companies, although he opted to take a different path and start up his own firm. Named Cedar Creek Communications, this was only the first of many successful companies that he would eventually establish. Apart from Cedar Creek which he started in 2000, these include Xtreme International, Stone Creek Development, Halo International, Knockout Promotions, Thompson Investments, and TNT Logistics, all of which became multimillion dollar earners. The panel certainly had reason to be impressed. Kasey actually got his start in business at the age of 8, starting up his own company in his hometown of Rigby in Eastern Idaho. This would prove to be an auspicious beginning to what would be a life filled with successful business ventures. For Kasey Thompson, Idaho native and ace entrepreneur, life would provide a string of opportunities for personal and professional growth and enhancement. One of Kasey’s most noteworthy accomplishments is the organizing of the pay-per-view fight of professional American boxer Roy Jones, Jr. which aired on HBO. Held at the Qwest Arena in Boise, the sporting event was the biggest of its kind in Idaho history. Kasey was also responsible for organizing Ribfest, an outdoor event that was the largest in the history of the state as well. The event took place in Eagle, Idaho over the course of a weekend, and registered more than 100,000 attendees.

D’Arcy transforms steel pipe into abstract, kinetic sculptures. D’Arcy has a unique method for creating his sculpture. Most metal sculptors work in an additive process- combining separate elements and welding them together until the work is complete. D’Arcy works in a method he calls “subtractive fabrication.” With this technique, he works much like a stone carver. Using a plasma cutter he removes material from the pipe, adding only space until the work reveals itself. Grinding and polishing completes the fabrication process. Sometimes color and glosses are added; other times the work is allowed to rust or patina naturally. Some of his work takes the form of simple shapes like spirals which are often created spontaneously. Other pieces are considerably more complex. The structure of the pipe provides just the right degree of constraints for the creative process to flourish. During his career, D’Arcy’s metal sculptures have naturally evolved to reflect many of the principles of Zen Aesthetics and Wabi-Sabi. Wabi-Sabi represents an aesthetic centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as beauty that is “imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete”. Characteristics of this school of design include asymmetry, irregularity, subtlety, and simplicity; it often appreciates the natural weathering and aging process. D’Arcy’s sculptural work usually ranges between four and eight feet tall. This size is the most practical for one person to handle and manipulate during the fabrication and transportation process. The human scale of the work results in an approachable form and a unique texture that draws your attention along the contrasting edges and the smooth curves. The work is suitable for indoor or outdoor display, and due to their vertical nature his sculptures show well in corners.. Light adds drama and creates interesting shadows. A light touch or breeze initiates movement and encourages interaction with the viewer. Although the sculptures appear very solid many are light enough to be easily moved in order to change the display location.
