“Listen to me now...and hear me later: Do not hire anyone other than Kitchens Of The South. This would be my fervent advice to anyone looking for a kitchen designer in the western North Carolina/Greenville, SC area. My husband and I were beyond pleased with Kevin and the entire team he brought to our kitchen remodel project. ...Having not yet even purchased our home, I walked into the showroom off the street, knowing nothing about Kevin. He immediately greeted me...looked at the inspiration photos on my phone...and happily began showing me cabinet and countertop samples. I immediately thought, “This guy knows what he’s doing.” And...equally as important...he’s that guy you feel like you’ve known forever. ...I told my husband when I got back to our B&B, "If we get that house, I've found our kitchen designer." --A few months later, I called Kevin...reintroduced myself...and within minutes we had an appointment on the books. As an "armchair" designer, myself, Kevin took my very (bold, italicized, underlined ;-))specific desires, and turned them into a reality. Throughout the entire process — from dreaming and designing — to installation, Kevin was genuinely excited and interested in every single aspect of the job, and proactively kept us in the loop with each detail. I knew from day one that we could trust Kevin. When my husband met him, he told me “You picked the right guy.” ...Being completely new to the area, we blindly followed Kevin's lead on a contractor (who was absolutely phenomenal), and their teamwork eliminated any worry on our part. And, when it came time for the cabinet and counter installs, we were not at all surprised by Kevin's team. His cabinet installers are like a teacher's favorite students...incredibly quiet, yet always “on-task” workers, who respectfully attend to every detail, and leave their working space exceptionally organized and clean for the following day. Kevin is also very hands-on himself, and can install with the best of them...proving he knows kitchens from the ground up. Kevin's counter installer is nothing short of a class act, has the utmost pride in his work, and who — like Kevin — is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. In effect...you're only as good as the people who work for you, and there was not one single day Kevin's team didn't finish up, that we'd say, "These are such good guys." We went to bed each night knowing anyone who came through our door to work on our kitchen was treating our home as if it was their own. Needless to say...this was priceless. As an architect I have used them in the design portion of the project to try to maintain the budget where restricted and have also used them as a resource as to solve difficult design problems. Overall installed price of custom cabinets for our kitchen was competitive with higher quality non-custom cabinets but with more features, special details, and higher quality. Greg and his team worked closely with us on dimensions, finish, wood selection, details, budget, value engineering, etc. We had a lot of questions and special requests. However, they were always polite, patient, professional, and responsive. They worked with us to prioritize our wish list and stay within our budget and schedule. “Chuck and his son did an AMAZING job on our mantle and hearth made out of black walnut. This was a very difficult and complicated job because they are both 15 feet long and we wanted to keep a "live edge" on the front. They did a beautiful job that appears seamless and the finish is awesome. In addition, we had a few pieces of walnut left over so Chuck turned them into a beautiful console top and 2 side tables. I drew a rough picture and they figured it out. All are the highlight of our living room! The service was excellent and great value. Working with Chuck and his son was a pleasure and I would not hesitate to recommend them for any woodwork you are planning. Our new kitchen cabinets are next on the list and we will definitely be calling Chuck Hess Woodworking!”

We would have been proud to have this Potting Cabinet design and workmanship( with modifications as a Hall Tree) inside our home. Friends notice it as soon as they step foot on our deck. In addition, he extended our deck and in spite of the settling challenges produced level entry way to our side door. He created two sturdy ramps in place of steps. We needed the angle of the ramps to accomodate our large breed dog and ourselves. It was correctly sized.. Ron brings artisanship to his skills and we would have him again for any work we might need.
