“Karen is a fabulously creative, versatile and clever professional who has helped us to transform our space. We always thought that hiring an interior designer was completely out of our reach. However, after falling in love with one of Karen’s featured projects on Making Spaces, we came to find out that we could work with Karen on an hourly basis, on a daily basis or by project – perfect! Unlike many of her London counterparts, Karen offered a completely flexible (we work together remotely) and budget friendly option. We have worked with Karen on two projects to date, and will no doubt continue our collaboration. We started out with a very dark, dingy hallway and a gloomy claustrophobic living room. For both projects we have relied on Karen for everything from sourcing hard to find pieces, to designing bespoke cabinetry, to choosing paint colours, to finding ways to harmoniously work our existing pieces into the design. We could not be more pleased with the results. Not only do both spaces look beautiful, but they really reflect our own personal style. An absolute pleasure to work with, Karen has also proven to be very creative and flexible given a number of constraints – budget, pets, time-scales. At times we’ve had to pause projects while the handy man (aka hubby) constructed joinery, or I was finally able to decide from a few of her fabulous suggestions. Who knew I’d get so hung up on choosing the absolutely perfect chairs! Her creative magic coupled with her collaborative approach make the process fun. “Tom fitted three bespoke wardrobes in my 17th century cottage,no mean feat with no straight walls plus sloping ceilings and floors! He matched the doors to an existing cupboard in one room and had all new pieces sprayed to match including shelves . Tom also made a small kitchen cabinet sprayed to match existing units wall hung over an oak shelf ( made by Tom)to house the Combi Microwave.He fitted a matching coloured shelf above the Drier plus two more shelves on the cellar. Also he sorted out four oak doors which did not shut properly plus an awkward drawer in the study . Tom removed a built in dishwasher and took it away rehanging the cabinet door so I can get a built in washing machine fitted. Fantastic job,nothing too much bother.Really easy to get on with ,takes great pride in his work and it showsI I am extremely pleased with all his efforts!”
