We have worked with Odile on several projects over the past few years and cannot recommend her highly enough. She first worked with us in 2021, when she designed and made our beautiful bespoke kitchen units. Since then we’ve invited her back as our renovation progressed — she created five fitted wardrobes for our bedrooms and, most recently in 2025, a stunning fitted bookcase for our kitchen–living space along with bespoke coat and shoe storage for our entrance porch. Odile is a truly exceptional craftsperson. From the first conversations about design through to installation, she brings thoughtfulness, professionalism and incredible attention to detail. She has a wonderful ability to take an idea and turn it into something both practical and beautiful — you can show her a picture or simply describe what you’re hoping for and she will find a way to make it happen. She’s also very generous with her knowledge, offering guidance and thoughtful design suggestions so that each piece works perfectly in the space. Over the years she has made pieces that have become part of everyday family life in our home, and the quality of her work is outstanding. We’re already planning to ask her back again to make some freestanding furniture for our living room. By then she will have worked in almost every room in the house — which probably says everything about how much we value her work.

We had already had some wardrobes made by Odile and so when we started a much bigger architect-led redevelopment for our house in Newquay we chose Odile again for all our new joinery - including built in shelves and hanging space in our entrance hall, vanity units, built in dressing room, new wardrobes and archways and wall panelling for our hall amongst other things. It was a big job for a one woman business but as always Odile was fantastic to work with, providing a very personal service, producing beautiful work to a very high standard and completing everything within the deadline. She always gives very sensible advice, has great ideas and leaves behind joinery that feels unique, special and made with love and care. We would highly recommend SoKipling for any joinery work - we also saw some lovely kitchens she had built for other clients!

When we moved to our little cottage we were worried we would not have enough kitchen storage. When Odile designed our kitchen she spent time looking at every tiny detail and worked out how to make the most of the space and make it useful and efficient. She came up with clever ideas we would never have thought of and even helped us with paint colours! Also something that was important to us was that she was happy to project manage with the plumber and electrician. Our kitchen is solid, practical and beautiful and everything fits into it perfectly - we could not be more pleased. The drawers slide smoothly, the big pantry cupboard holds much more than we ever imagined possible due to her clever design. Odile's excellent joinery skills show that she obviously loves her work and takes a lot of pride in what she does to a very high standard. Really excellent value for money. We would recommend her highly.

We are absolutely delighted with our new ash kitchen which Odile has designed, made and installed for us. The space available was somewhat restricted and certainly needed improvement. Odile listened to my ideas, preferences and concerns and came up with innovative solutions. I’m usually quite good at thinking ahead but Odile is so adept at her craft that she had invariably already considered a number of steps ahead which is important in this sort of project. The walls and floor were quite uneven and great care and incredible patience was shown to make sure that everything was still perfectly aligned. It was a delight to see how Odile interpreted my initial ideas for incorporating carvings and this has really made the finished kitchen unique. It is obviously quite an ordeal and an upheaval to have a kitchen replaced but I felt very comfortable having Odile in the house and totally confident that the end result would be worth it. She is calm under all circumstances and always has not one but a number of solutions to any problems that crop up. I confidently and highly recommend her to anyone considering a project of this sort.

Odile is a rare find being the perfect combination of contemporary designer and highly skilled craftsman. She transformed a 'junk room' in our very old cottage into a work of art with cabinets, storage and a study space beautifully crafted and carefully fitted around all the nooks and crannies of a cottage built in the 1800's without a single true wall! She is visionary in her ability to use traditional materials in a modern way, and is an absolute dream to work with. She is patient, understanding and diligent - always arrives when she says she will and stays until the job is done. Her standards are extremely high - from the design through the manufacture to the cleaning up at the end of each day. We cannot recommend her highly enough, and have already engaged her to design some new projects and pieces of furniture for us. Our only concern is that by recommending her so highly she will become even more sought after - and there are simply not enough Odiles in the world to go round!

Odile made some bedside tables for me . I had seen a design online that I liked but was not happy with quality , they were too tall and I wanted a less shiny finish . Odile looked at the design and made me some beautiful tables using the concept of the design I liked but which fitted my requirements exactly . The quality and finish are excellent . It was a joy to work with Odile and to visit her wonderful workshop and see all the other fantastic work she is doing..Her work is amazing and I would have no hesitation in asking her to be involved with other projects Margot Kneen

We wanted a well constructed new kitchen, to look in keeping within a Georgian property. We found Odile by chance when we walked past her So Kipling workshop; and after looking at her portfolio of prior work we asked her to build us a kitchen. We have enjoyed the entire journey from planning to the final result, which has met all our expectations. I can’t rate Odile of So Kipling highly enough! She updated our kitchen for us which was actually one she made about 10 years ago for the previous owners of our house. The quality was fantastic and truly lasting. We therefore weren’t interested in having it replaced but instead wanted a few updates to make it work better for us. Odile made and fitted a very large oak and painted kitchen for our new barn conversion. We had her booked well in advance but the building works were continually delayed. Odile was flexible and managed to work around the other trades including adjusting cabinets to fit around uneven walls! I had a pretty fixed idea of what I wanted for the kitchen including solid oak drawers with exposed finger joint detailing. Of all the quotes I received Odile’s was the most competitive and she was the only one who was confident that she could build the kitchen to my exact specifications. She looked at the design I had in mind and was able to make a number of suggestions to improve on it. The resulting kitchen is exactly what I was dreaming of plus more. Odile is professional and friendly, she does what she says she is going to do when she says and is a very clean, tidy worker with great attention to detail. The tradesmen on site were all very impressed by Odile’s craftsmanship and build quality and all visitors have been very complimentary about the kitchen. I would definitely recommend Odile to anybody looking to buy a bespoke kitchen (my parents already plan to commission Odile to design and make the kitchen for their new house).

Nothing is ever a problem for Odile. She worked so hard with us to find solutions to a space problem in our new kitchen, and designed a space that was small but perfectly formed. She's a real listener and as a result we've used her for subsequent smaller projects too. Very creative, a problem solver and a perfectionist!

Odile is one of a kind. She took a photo and from that, designed and built a kitchen of the highest workmanship. She has a pridigeous work ethic and loves nothing more than to solve problems. She never gives up and is driven by the need to provide the client with their dream kitchen. She worked to budget and approached the project with the utmost professionalism.. Finally, she is a pleasure to work with. We have no hesitatation In recommending Odile. Her waiting list says it all!
