“I employed Ben Cunliffe and his team to redesign my two bedroom single storey home with a view to creating a two storey family home. My brief was to maximise space and light and where possible to incorporate green technologies. Ben's design process was inspirational. We were able to design a building that had floor to ceiling windows in every room maximising light and views from every room. “This was a large extension to a 1930's house built in the Arts & Crafts style. The brief was to maximise the potential of the site and location whilst complementing the character of the existing building. The outcome was very successful with Phil contributing key ideas for the design beyond the client's initial thoughts. He was also effective in working with our local contractor, being both sympathetic to their way of working whilst being very clear about what was required. He was very constructive during the build as either issues needed to be overcome or new opportunities presented themselves, suggesting options and providing opinions. Good to work with.”
