The Custom Developer in Braintree, Essex, UK, was founded in 2017 by Martin Bourke who has years of experience in the carpentry industry. They have grown immensely and now employ a good number of qualified carpenters and apprentices. Our reputation is based on our hands-on approach and our dedication to only doing quality work.

Been over 8 months since he's started, not finished and not returning calls. Hasn't paid the plumber, and left our ensuites incomplete. When we reached out to him earlier this year, he would say he's got an ear infection or his van got broken in to, then has now ghosted us.

Martin has been paid in full for the work, yet 5 months on I am still waiting for him to finish the work. I have screws sticking through my door frame. Some of the hung doors still need to be planed and bits are missing. Happy to take the money but not finish the job. I have tried contacting Martin several times but he avoids all contact, why? Can you trust a guy like this? I would suggest not.

Martin is amazing. He did a fantastic job on our railings in the garden taking time and care to measure it all perfectly. He then helped build our pirate ship climbing frame and create some amazing work on the tarpaulin which all had to be made individually. He was very nice and professional and really respected my worry about social distancing during the pandemic. Would highly recommend.

The Custom Developer is a highly and multi-skilled tradesman. He is punctual, reliable and came with some useful and creative suggestions to help finish out project. The standard of finish on out kitchen is outstanding. I would certainly hire him again and recommend to others

I can highly recommend The Custom Developer. Martin has carried out several projects for us and we are looking forward to him constructing a new wooden side gate for us in the near future. The quality of his work is second to none and his prices are always reasonable. His cheerful and friendly manner is an added bonus.

What can I say. This guy. He's perfect. Came and quoted to fit a worktop which he custom cut from a giant piece of solid walnut. Did the job, on time and on budget. Even carried the wood up 6 flights of stairs to my flat, didn't break a sweat. Would recommend to anyone

Had my wood laminate floor done by Custom Developer. From start to finish they were wonderful! I was totally clueless as to what I wanted or would need and they advised me all the way. The work was done to a really good finish and super quick too! All done in less than a day, helped me tidy up and move the furniture too. Very professional. So good I’ve already recommended them to friends and I’m inviting them back soon to do some additional work! Highly recommend!
