Both our companies, were brought on site to do work for a 24,000 sq. ft. mansion in Leesburg, VA. “The selection of blinds was mind boggling. The Customer Service Representative helped us determine the best type of blinds for our windows. We were not disappointed! The blinds were available for installation within the timeframe stated at the time of ordering. The installation was quick and professional. “I was referred to Cheryl at Exceptional View by a friend in the housing and interior business. First, I got some pricing information from a few other window treatment vendors. Once Cheryl came for a home visit, I knew why she had been recommended. She was very affable and effective. My time with her seemed luxurious compared to other experiences I have had. She was able to help me meet my needs within my budget. Being a double amputee, I appreciate the remote controlled blinds. One hundred percent worth the extra money. Furthermore, I had quite settled on one tone when Cheryl showed me a much nicer one. Her experience and eye for décor paid off as the first ones would have been to dull or gray. Do yourself a favor and use Cheryl at Exceptional Views if in the market for Hunter Douglas or high-quality blinds. You won't be sorry.”

“Marcus Forrester of Home Blinds was wonderful to work with. After receiving a post card from his company, we scheduled an appointment to meet with him. He arrived promptly at the designated time and patiently reviewed the varying lines of products. He had a vast selection of samples and explained the features and benefits of each. His prices were competitive and were below a notable competitor. We ordered shutters and blinds which came in on time. Marcus installed the shutters and blinds on the scheduled date. “I met with Eva to fabricate custom drapery for a client project. Eva was punctual, friendly, and very knowledgeable. She helped me decide on drapery style and together we worked through all the details. After the initial meeting, her communication was excellent! She touched base with me about the hardware installation, the fabric delivery, and the production times. I was even away on vacation when she worked directly with my client to get the job done. The quality of the drapery is excellent. It was a five star experience and I plan on using Eva again. Thank you!”

When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
Any fabric can be used, but generally the most common types of fabric used are cotton, silk, linen, polyester, and combinations of these due to their lighter weight and insulating properties.
