Renee stepped in and spent several meetings explaining concepts then proceeded to offer me several alternatives within my budget. Once we decided on the direction there was constant contact with the progress of the orders until they arrived and she delivered them personally to assure we were happy. Her suggestions for fabric and color were incredible and we are super pleased with the choices she helped us make. We received her first proposal later the same day. We needed to trim down some of the expense by using different treatments. Terri helped us to stay within our budget and still get the style we were looking for our home. Peter, who installed our window coverings, was so careful and thorough. We had a mechanical problem with one of the treatments and he was at our home within a few hours to fix the problem. “Cynde and her installer were fantastic. We built a house with an open design with walls of windows. When I called her for window coverings I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted or the color scheme of the room. This would be a challenge for most designers, but not for cynde! She expertly helped me to clarify my needs and wants around the project by asking questions about what I liked and help me navigate and narrow down from hundreds of swatches telling me advantages of one material over another. We settled on a combination of Roman shades shutters and shades. The installer was pleasant and was precise in his installation. I would high recommend this designer and installer!”

When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
