“Because I care about quality window coverings, I ordered my home blinds from Blinds Discount. I've known this company before they had an Ecommerce site - in fact for about 20 years - and used to shop at their brick and mortar locations in Utah. Now that I live elsewhere, it is fantastic to be able to still get the best blinds available online and for a price that beats out competitors. I bought cellular shades and absolutely love them. When I ordered, I called to get help and have to say that the customer service was outstanding (they explained to me how to measure my windows correctly and even talked to me about styles). The blinds were delivered several days prior to the expected delivery date which meant I could have them installed quicker. If you value quality and service, don't go anywhere else for your blinds. When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
