“Ada & Ina provided us with 5 free samples which is a great help when deciding and choosing fabrics. They were a good size and gave a good representation of the colour and quality of fabric. We ended up ordering fabric to make window seat cushions. The quality and thread of the linen was very high, making a very smart upholstery project. The fabric arrived quickly and trade accounts are also available which is a great help. I would definitely recommend to any one in the future.”

“Vine house interiors are an amazing company. I have used them for 20 years and never have they let me down. Maggie, Keith and their team work brilliant together. Maggie has vision and Keith worries about little details. I have had full curtains, pelmets, blinds, throws and table cloths made by Vine house and every time I have been delighted. Maggie has worked with me to deign a room from a blank canvas to a room where we have had to work around existing furniture. Nothing is ever too much trouble. “We were very pleased with the service we received from Diamond Shutters. The quote was very reasonable and the quality of the shutters is excellent. The salesman was very knowledgable and not in the slightest pushy. When I spoke to the office staff they were cheery and very helpful. I was told it would be 7/9 week delivery and would be contacted to arrange installation. Very helpful that they could install on a Saturday so didn't need to take time off work. The guys fitted the shutters quickly and left every room spotless. Five year guarantee too. I would definitely recommend this company.”

When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
