Becky, very patiently, helped me decide on the types of treatments, the fabrics, and the type of installation. And when I dithered, Becky very patiently waited for my decisions.. Then came the installation. Very carefully done, carefully measured, and carefully hung. I couldn't be more pleased!”

“It was a delight working with CPDC Decor and Candace on my recent project. CPDC constructed custom curtains for several rooms of a large home, throw pillows, custom-shaped seat cushions for antique chairs, and even curtains for cabinet doors. They were able to provide hardware, some of the fabrics, and installation services. The workmanship is perfect, the work was completed quickly and my client is thrilled with the results. “I had Style Redux review the window treatments in my townhome, which I am preparing to sell. I am a single man who has lived in this home for about 10 years so the window treatments were minimal and rather plain to say the least. Ms. Weatherbie (Style Redux) spent considerable time with me discussing my interests, needs, and (especially) my budget. She then came back with several alternatives, varying the approach from one room to another based on furnishings and what she sensed of my tastes. I am not a person who pays a lot of attention to the nuances of color and fabric, but Ms. Weatherbie proposed drapes and other window treatments that are tasteful and within my budget. She delivered designs and talked through them with me, delivered finished products when she promised, and oversaw their installation. I could not be happier with her work and will use her services on my new home when the opportunity permits.”

“I had a very unusual window in a high-rise condo that I wanted to dress up. The window is part of the building's curtain wall so doesn't have standard framing around it, and an HVAC duct in front of it would keep traditional shutters from swinging open. Andy and I discussed options for light and sound management, plus aesthetics, and he proposed a combination of room-darkening honeycomb blinds with remote control and plantations shutters held on with magnets to a custom frame built around the window. I liked his ideas and absolutely love the final result. I also replaced damaged vertical blinds in another room with remote controlled honeycomb blinds after going over the options with Andy. I was very pleased with his ability to think of unique solutions to my particular problems and to work with me towards a final design. Installation was also very well done. I strongly recommend Montgomery Blinds for shutters and blinds for any situation, but particularly if you have any window that is out of the ordinary.”

“This is actually the 4th time I have used this company to install blinds, shades and shutters in multiple homes where I have lived and for my mom' house. Bryan is great for ideas and they have an extensive line of options to choose from. I received a quote from a large player in this market the time before this last project just to see what their pricing would be. Blind, Shade & Shutter Co. came in significantly lower with a higher quality product line. Install always has gone smoothly and they make sure you are entirely satisfied. “I had a very unusual closet and Justin worked with me to maximize the available space to configure a closet system that was both functional and beautiful!! He spent a lot of time listening to my ideas and even customized a brand new pull-out shelf for shoes that works beautifully. The workers made sure that everything fit perfectly and Justin oversaw the process from start to finish. No mess and they even removed their shoes before walking on the carpet. When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
Any fabric can be used, but generally the most common types of fabric used are cotton, silk, linen, polyester, and combinations of these due to their lighter weight and insulating properties.
