“I have dealt with Lyndsay of Lindsey Blinds for a couple of window treatment installations for my new place. It's always been a pleasure doing business with her. She's attentive to my wants and needs and gives me ample suggestions of what might work best. “I have used Perfect Fit Windows in two homes. They are fabulous! They are courteous, prompt with follow up and do a wonderful job installing. They are extremely knowledgeable and offer suggestions that are helpful. When I had our prior home listed, a person attended an open house. She took a picture of my greatroom Windows went into Perfect Fit Windows, showed her the picture of my Windows and asked their shop could replicate them. I think that is the best example of their quality and workmanship I can relate. I am happy to be a reference, if needed and would definitely recommend Perfect Fit.”

“Blind & Shutter Gallery installed plantation shutters in my great (family) room and Master Bedroom and Master Bathroom. They also installed shades that are on a remote control. There were three different products all from Hunter Douglas. My decorator recommended them and I have been extremely happy. You begin by having Dave come to your home for your estimate. He makes recommendations and takes measurements and is highly knowledgeable of all of Hunter Douglas' product. I like that it has a lifetime guarantee. Jessica, who owns Blind & Shutter Gallery with Dave is a pleasure. Danny has been our installer. He works fast but carefully and fully explains how to use your products. Their prices are good and I was very happy with what we purchased. I would highly recommend Blind & Shutter Gallery.”

When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
Any fabric can be used, but generally the most common types of fabric used are cotton, silk, linen, polyester, and combinations of these due to their lighter weight and insulating properties.
