“Shirley Mitchell came to my house as an interior design expert and helped me update the window treatments in the living room of a 30 year old raised ranch. Not an easy assignment. She spent time discussing the project with me, determining what my budget would be for the project, and came prepared for addressing that with several different ideas. She was able to offer plenty of visuals, via catalogs of materials and samples of materials, for window treatments options and decorative hardware. She then mailed me samples of materials I might choose and let me consider my options, while keeping lines of communication open at all times. Once I did decide on a material then she returned and spent additional time and discussion with me regarding the construction of the window treatment. I never felt pressured into purchasing something I might feel unsure about; she also seemed to be very comfortable about offering me options within my budget that she felt would give the room the "facelift" I'd hoped to achieve. In a timely fashion, the project was completed, and the entire window treatment was installed within a hour's time one afternoon. Services were prompt and reliable; the installation was organized and well done by the team of installers. I am thrilled with the results. I am hoping to contact Mitchell Designs for my next project, my dining room. I would highly recommend them very highly, and without reservation.”

“I wish I had known of Grace before I ordered other window treatments through the more commercial companies which are lacking in true customization and personal touch. The quality of the work she did exceeded all previous work that I have done on my prior homes and my new one. I also used one company in Whippany NJ to do roman shades for our master bedroom. I had to send them back once because they were not operating well AND they were not as neatly presented as I would expect. They were less than the commercial companies but the quality was lacking. The work Grace sent back for my living room bay windows which are the exact shape and specs as the ones in our bedroom are breathtakingly gorgeous! I now want her to re-do other window treatments in my home. Her prices are beyond reasonable and the quality of work is EXCEPTIONAL! My pictures attached don't do them full justice especially since I am not done decorating this room but trust me when i say, I am a highly critical person. Her work is EXCEPTIONAL.”

In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill.
