“I hired Ambiance after an addition to our house to help me pull it all together since I was so confused in which way I wanted to go. Renee stepped in and spent several meetings explaining concepts then proceeded to offer me several alternatives within my budget. Once we decided on the direction there was constant contact with the progress of the orders until they arrived and she delivered them personally to assure we were happy. “We built a new home and needed window coverings for all of our windows. Terri was very knowledgeable in all of the window treatments. Her suggestions for fabric and color were incredible and we are super pleased with the choices she helped us make. We received her first proposal later the same day. We needed to trim down some of the expense by using different treatments. Terri helped us to stay within our budget and still get the style we were looking for our home. Peter, who installed our window coverings, was so careful and thorough. We had a mechanical problem with one of the treatments and he was at our home within a few hours to fix the problem. I would highly recommend Terri, you can't go wrong. Terri also follows up after the installation to make sure you are satisfied. This is a business you can trust that will do the job right!”

When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
