“We replaced our 18-year-old cellular blinds with new ones from Nation's Blinds in Vienna, Va. Sara was great to work with. She listened and understood our desires and limitations, presented our options, and helped us choose the right color. The blinds arrived within the expected two-week timeframe. It was easy to schedule installation. Sara's right-hand guy installed 16 blinds in about two hours. They removed and disposed of the old blinds for us. FYI, We chose Graber cellular blinds and room-darkening ones for the bedrooms. My husband asks, "Why did we wait so long for room-darkening blinds?" We're sleeping better.”

“I was very happy with the service I received from Roslyn at Budget Blinds. She listened to my wants, my budget and my family's needs to help cover around 40 windows in my new home. “The window treatments shown as examples: "A Lighter Touch At The Window" and "Flat Roman Shade as Valance" were part of Linda's Masterworks design, creativity, and follow through. I definitely enjoyed working with Linda and continue to enjoy the results! Her ability to discern my taste, find amazing fabrics and educate me on window options, plus her incredible color talent, her timely follow-through on ordering and hanging the window treatments, and her pleasant and capable demeanor makes her an excellent choice for project design and completion. She listened effectively to my concerns about my husband's allergies and we used less fabric at the windows. She helped me to chose colors and designs that suited my taste and the tenor of my home. “I met with Eva to fabricate custom drapery for a client project. Eva was punctual, friendly, and very knowledgeable. She helped me decide on drapery style and together we worked through all the details. After the initial meeting, her communication was excellent! She touched base with me about the hardware installation, the fabric delivery, and the production times. I was even away on vacation when she worked directly with my client to get the job done. “I hired this company to replace just the window in a patio door at everyone else wanted to sell me two new sliding doors at triple the price. They were at my home within an hour of my telephone call. They told me it would be two weeks to get the custom glass. Ten days later they called and came by within an hour to install the new glass. They were on time, courteous, and handled the project like a pro. I would definite use them again for glass work. They not only gave me the best price, but did the work on time and under budget. When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
