“We used Sunburst Shutters to install plantation shutters on every single window in our house. It was the best thing that we ever did. We have custom woodwork in our house and the shutters enhance the custom woodwork and provide great functionality. The shutters provide total privacy and stop damaging sun rays. But we simply love the look and they give us a consistent look throughout the entire house. We just recently had Sunburst back to install shutters over our patio door. They turned out great. Excellent job; excellent enhancement of the patio door and total blocking of an annoying sun. Sunburst Shutters does magnificent work. “We first contact Tint Pros looking for a solution in our police department lobby to either mirror or darken the large windows that looked into our dispatch center from the lobby. I didn't want a complete "mirror" look which seemed so un-inviting to the citizens who entered our police department, but I also didn't want a totally dark tint that the dispatchers could not see out of either. Tint Pros came out to our police department and came up with the idea to do a darker tint layer first with a mirror layer over that.. basically a two-layer tinting. This gave us the benefit of having a nice inviting lobby with semi-darker windows, but with the mirror tint behind the dark tint, it provided some privacy for the dispatchers to see out but for the citizens to not see in. Tint Pros tried many many combinations of different tint percentages before we all agreed on what worked and looked best. They were terrific to work with and we will be using them again. When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
Any fabric can be used, but generally the most common types of fabric used are cotton, silk, linen, polyester, and combinations of these due to their lighter weight and insulating properties.
