“Dale and Tina at Apollo Draperies were great! They didn't overly push their own ideas; rather, they listened to mine and enhanced them to make them better. They helped find cost effective ways to do beautiful draperies in my Great Room, Kitchen, and several Bedrooms. Their full services included sketches to fabric selection to making to hanging. “We redecorated our kitchen for our son's graduation and Jenny did a masterful job on our window treatments and bar stool cushions! She took the pattern and material I picked and created something really wonderful. She is meticulous and very talented. She also squeezed us in her busy schedule to make sure everything was ready well before the party. Our guests were all very impressed and so am I! I'd hire her again in a heartbeat!”

“Patti did an incredible job for me, start to finish. I think the most challenging part was trying to figure out what I wanted (I had no idea, and interior home style is not my strong suit!). She did a great job of taking me through the creative process - presented lots of options, materials, designs, etc... But she made that process very manageable and efficient for me. Once we settled on what we were going to do, the project was done on time, and installation was neat and thorough. I'd recommend her highly!!”

When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
