“I hired Firefighter Blinds to complete the purchase and installation of plantation shutters and wood blinds throughout my new home. I researched several companies and found Billy at Firefighter Blinds to provide the best service, quality and pricing among all of the vendors I compared. Billy provides timely and very courteous service throughout the process. The installation team was also courteous, thorough and very careful, including complete clean-up afterwards. The shutters are absolutley beautiful and the entire process and result far exceeded my expectations! When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
