“Jill was very helpfull when I was shopping for my window treatments. She didn't want just to push me something. She helped me to choose the best product for my home and worked with my budget. I definitely enjoyed working with Linda and continue to enjoy the results! “I was very happy with the service I received from Roslyn at Budget Blinds. She listened to my wants, my budget and my family's needs to help cover around 40 windows in my new home. “Kelly is a true design professional. She assisted in the decision making process for the right type of window treatments for a side by side living room and kitchen combination. She never applied pressure to choose more expensive options or add one. Also, her eye for color, texture, and style was on point. Lastly, due to COVID our design appointments were online and she was on time and ready to go. She continued to communicate through the process , right through to installation and final review. All in all, a great experience.”

“Julie was terrific. It was a small job, new window treatments (4 windows) in a master bedroon. She arrivied on time, brought samples as I requested and was very helpful in the selection of fabric. I was replacing old designer drapes so I knew what I wanted and she understood. She kept things simple and easy, wonderful to work with. Drapes arrives earlier than expected, and the installer she suggested was perfect. He arrived, and as predicted was able to mount the brackets and solve my problem of old, crumbling plaster. When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
Any fabric can be used, but generally the most common types of fabric used are cotton, silk, linen, polyester, and combinations of these due to their lighter weight and insulating properties.
