“I just had window treatments installed by V-lonne. I ordered pirouettes and custom draperies for my living room and dining room. I even had a custom rod made for my dining room curtains. The result is absolutely stunning. It's better than I imagined it would be. I was so pleased with both the product and the professionalism of the staff that I decided to install silhouettes in my den. The staff is really great. We met the wife of the owner, Paul who was helpful in helping choose the type of window treatment we wanted. Paul came to the home to sample books to help to measure and choose the color and fabrics for the blinds. Very personable.”

“I have a music studio business. I remodeled the studio this past summer. I ordered curtains from Indian Selections; the velvet curtains with the white strip on top and black on the bottom. When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
Any fabric can be used, but generally the most common types of fabric used are cotton, silk, linen, polyester, and combinations of these due to their lighter weight and insulating properties.
