“I have worked with Window Treasures on many different projects. Kathy is very talented and so helpful in many ways. She is extremely easy to work with at every step in the process. First she will help you determine which style works best for your windows and your decor. Then she will work with you to pick a fabric and will not stop looking until you find the perfect one! Lastly the finished product is a custom treatment that is exactly what you want. Kathy's attention to detail is unbelievable. She is a perfectionist and it shows in her work. I would highly recommend Kathy. I have always been very happy with the final product which includes multiple window treatments for my home as well as a custom duvet cover, shower curtain and various pillows.”

“Winter 2012 I hired Window Designs Etc. to create window treatments for my large living room picture window. I selected a Hunter Douglas remote controlled silk shade to filter the sun during the day, and then Marie Mouradian and I worked together to create a unique jabot design in ivory dupioni silk to frame the window. The result is functional and beautiful. The window treatment is lined and well made with every attention to fine detail. Marie is a lovely professional who provided qualitative, prompt service. Her rates are competitive, but her personalized attention is invaluable. She and her husband professionally installed the shade, the window treatment, and even hung some other drapes for me. They later came back to hang mirrors and pictures. They are personable, professional, genuinely caring people. My window is beautiful. It is the focal point of the room, and I have received compliments from everyone who has seen it. I am very pleased with my experience with Window Designs, Etc.”

“Beautiful job!! I hired Tracy to make custom drapes for 4 rooms including my master bedroom, my son's room and our living room and dining rooms. We also had her make custom roman shades for our dining room and kitchen and for our son's bedroom window. She did an incredible job! From start to finish, Tracy is wonderful to work with. She's happy to offer creative ideas or suggestions if asked. She was wonderful at helping me to make decisions each step of the way - and especially great at helping me visualize options! In addition to the custom drapery and roman shades, Tracy created amazing slipcovers for 2 couches that we had inherited but hated. My husband literally thought I had bought new couches when he saw them after Tracy was done! She made custom pillows for us as well in 5 different fabrics that we can now switch out depending on the season! When I say Tracy transformed our home, I mean it. We get compliments ALL THE TIME on our window treatments. Tracy is professional and talented. We will absolutely hire her again in the future.”

“After searching for drapery fabric for months in the big box stores, I fell upon this little gem of a place in Westborough. Although the store's focus is on custom window treatments, it also has some fabric on site for the do-it-yourselfers. The fabric, different from any other I had seen, is of high quality and is reasonably priced. Usher, the personable owner, gave me her undivided attention, helping me determine the amount of fabric needed and offering helpful sewing tips. All in all, it was a very positive shopping experience. I'll be back!”

When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
