They did a fantastic job supporting our bank with gabbion cages by the lake, even getting into cold water! Also did a very good job building a new rockery. All very polite and accommodating.

The extension had the potential to be a very intrusive project but Chris made sure that the impact was minimised and that we were always kept up to date with plans and progress. In particular, the way that Chris managed his Fresh Approach team and corralled the external suppliers - including ensuring quality control - mean that we hit deadlines and target dates, despite a significant scope change. The flexible approach and sound, unbiased advice was hugely welcome and helped us achieve a result that we are absolutely delighted with. In 2017 Christiaan and the Fresh Approach Team completed a large double story extension plus internal work on our semi-detached house. From the first call/email Christiaan's response to discuss the project was quick, turnaround for a quote speedy and then accommodating to discuss how to get it in our budget. When we suggested that we source some of the materials to keep costs under control, he was fantastic in dealing with 3rd parties. Throughout the build he not only project managed the project but also us! Telling us when the team needed certain things delivered and what was coming up in the build. Let's just say he was very patient as we were weren't the most organised. We agreed a payment structure which we were all happy with and amazing when it came to the final bill. One example of the team going over and above was that we wanted a vaulted ceiling which wasn't in the original plans. Christiaan liaised with the structural engineer and sourced the measurements and stats before going ahead and building exactly what we wanted. Top notch! We were so glad that we chose Fresh Approach and the final outcome of everything completed internally and externally has been of an exceptional high quality, I would highly recommend Christiaan and the team to anyone looking at taking on a building project!

Christiaan and his team built our extension, including a bedroom and bathroom and a large kitchen and utility room. They were a pleasure to work with and I could always trust Christiaan to do his utmost to make everything run smoothly and for the work to be of good quality. Chris and his team were excellent from start to finish. We now have a bright & beautiful kitchen/dining/day room area, plus a separate utility, all of which works & flows wonderfully. We added on the rest of the downstairs & stairs & landing to be redecorated & updated, which all looks fabulous. Thereafter, new patios, a driveway, door canopy, rendering & cladding on the front of the house were also completed. Chris was on hand at all times to answer questions and deal with any problems calmly, quickly & efficiently & always took the time to discuss at length what we wanted. The contractors he uses are also hardworking, professional & all go the extra mile to make this experience as painless as possible. Chris has a great relationship with his clients & workers thus making this a very good working environment (no easy task when your house is being knocked to pieces & you’re trying to make daily decisions). We cannot thank Chris & Fresh Approach enough for all their hard work & for making our house a beautiful place to live.

We have completed two projects with Christiaan. The first was a second story extension to enlarge a master bedroom/ ensuite and add a bedroom in our last house. The second project was a two storey extension but we trusted Christiaan as we had worked with him before. He worked flawlessly from our plans, letting us know if there were any changes along the way. He is very knowledgeable and offered us a lot of helpful advice whether it be sourcing interior materials or offering different pricing options. His communication was excellent. His quotes were reasonable and he checked and informed us of any changes which is vital when doing such a large project! The quality of his work was very high and his team were very hardworking. Last year Fresh Approach carried out a re-build of our loft conversion after our previous builders left us with a structurally unsound and poor-quality build. We got in touch with Christiaan who took the time to evaluate the situation and we were very pleased when he agreed to take on the work. His team were polite, hardworking individuals who took on all aspects of the job including structural, electrical, plumbing and interior work. It was all carried out to a high standard and they were more than happy to accommodate additional work along the way to make the build more personalised. We are delighted with the final result and have no hesitation in giving our recommendation.

Chris Paul and his company, Fresh Approach, completed a project for us in May last year. We had a 1990s extension demolished, a new kitchen-diner built, and a new bathroom and utility room installed in the previous kitchen area. The old stairs (very dangerous) were removed and new ones installed and a new patio built in the back garden outside the kitchen/diner. From beginning to end, Chris was brilliant to deal with. He saw everything through from the drawings and planning permission to completions. He always responds immediately (or if he can't, within a couple of hours at most) to questions or issues being raised - in my experience, this is very rare for builders. Chris is patient, helpful, very well informed and very relaxed when problems do arise. His staff have been well briefed and are always courteous and helpful and a pleasure to have around. Chris employs a 'right-hand man' and about four labourers on a permanent basis; he gets the best out of them because he treats them well. He selects the best local contractors for the plumbing, electrical, window, roofing and flooring works etc. Where Chris is again giving a service above and beyond expectations, is that he always keeps in close contact with the householder and the contractor, so that if the householder is in any way less than happy with work done by a contractor, Chris sorts it out straightaway. Contractors told us that they are always very happy to work for Chris because he responds quickly to questions or issues raised by them and always pays them promptly! Our house was built in 1908 and when the existing kitchen floor tiles were removed, the surprise for the builders was that the floor underneath consisted merely of packed mud. So an unscheduled extra job was concreting that floor. Chris took this in his stride and his charges for anything extra were always modest. It's worth mentioning that when we had our first heavy rain for some time in the autumn of 2019 and found water running down our walls from a problem with the new roof, a phone call to Chris brought him and one of his staff out within the hour to put a tarpaulin over the roof. The problem turned out to be to do with the flashing where the new roof joined the original house wall. Chris got the roofers back to sort it on the first dry day that week. The decorators were brought back as soon as the ceiling and walls had dried out and all without the slightest trouble to us. We knew that Chris would sort out any 'snags' straight away. so we had absolutely no worries. The standard of work done by Fresh Approach is very high, our house now looks beautiful and it's a pleasure to be in the new space created. I would recommend Chris for any building or landscaping project and wouldn't want to use any one else myself.

Excellent service from start to finish. Quote was competitive and Chris kept us updated as the project went along. His team were polite and ensured minimum disruption to us. Chris and his team were exceptional from start to finish. Having previously had a poor experience with builders in London I was skeptical from the outset however Chris was approachable, professional and extremely knowledgeable throughout our build. They completed a rear kitchen extension for us which was on time and within budget (apart from a few extras which we added). We were looking for a Builder/Designer to help us with our house refurbishment, New garage, large rear extension including new kitchen, conversion of integral garage to a bedroom and utility room, refurbishment of existing bathrooms and rear garden landscaping, Chris from Fresh Approach was very professional and walked us through all the options many of which we hadn't thought of. The quote we received from him was the most detailed everything from skips through to decorating was covered. The building both started and finished on time and the quoted price was very accurate. The employees and all the contractors were friendly and cleaned up after themselves.
