Hestia Trustins LTD

My experience with Hestia Trustins Ltd has been very different from that of other reviewers. My journey with the company started when Houzz supplied their name as one of four matching professionals for my home renovation project. On checking Hestia Trustin's website I noticed that they displayed a prominent Houzz logo which incorporated the words "In partnership with and recommended by the leading experts in home renovations and design." That certainly seemed to lend them credibility, so I checked them out at Companies House, read the reviews and agreed to meet the two directors. Robert, introduced himself as Project manager and builder and Arshad as an Architect. They were both personable and we got on well. I was duped... To cut a long story short, they promised the earth but in the end delivered nothing. Having discussed the project they informed me that the next step was to draw up full plans and submit these to the Planning Department. They said they required the money for that service to be paid up-front and I trusted them. I settled their invoice but the plans never materialised despite repeated requests. Then, quite unexpectedly, I received a phone call to say they could start building work the following week. I was shocked! I reminded them that I still hadn't received either plans or a scope of works and we couldn't proceed until after successfully getting planning approval. The following day I was sent a very rudimentary scope of works, that appeared to me to be incomplete. I was getting increasingly suspicious that all was not as it seemed. After a sleepless night I revisited a building site the company has shown me around 2 months earlier. No progress had been made on that site, with the pile of rubble in the front garden exactly as before, and a notice indicating that Planning Permission had been sought a couple of days after I had first visited the already gutted building. At this point, having received nothing that I had paid for, I asked for a full refund. That was a month ago. Since then I have heard nothing from them. Thus far there has been no reply to my emails, texts, phone calls and letter. When I checked out Arshad on the UK register for Architects I could find no record of his name despite him using this protected title. When I went back to Companies House I discovered that that Rob (Project Manager) had resigned as a director the day I was contacted to say building work could start the following week... It feels horrible to have been conned and I am disappointed that, thus far, Houzz have seemed reluctant to take action against Hestia Trustin's use of Houzz's name and logo - which was undoubtably a factor that made me trust them. I will of course update this review if I receive a favourable response and a refund of my money, but in the meantime, I hope others can learn from my experience. (In my opinion a one star rating is one star too many!)

“To say that this 3 month modernization was a Herculean task would be an understatement. I remain convinced at this time, 2 weeks prior to occupancy that no other construction firm in the Area could have handled such a task and pulled it off successfully. I have become fond of calling Hestia Trustins the “Seal Team 6” of construction and would recommend them without qualification.”

As you are aware I have no hesitation in recommending Hestia Trustins Ltd., and do so regularly to my clients. You know that you are frequently invited to tender for work emanating from this office and this is on the basis that the work carried out thus far resulted in satisfied clients, and hence a satisfied architect.

May I personally thank you and your team for the recent works completed. What started out to be a relatively straight forward project soon became problematic with its daily challenges! However regular contact and communications with project manager Rob ensured that the job was not only completed to plan but ahead of schedule as well! I only wish all of our external contracting ran as smoothly and efficiently as this project! I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Hestia Trustins.

After a disastrous flood we commission Hestia Trustins to design and rebuild our home. Complete rewire, new central heating, plastering, new kitchen, new bathroom, flooring, decorating and everything in-between. The team were extremely polite and professional, they even looked after our cat while we were away! The work was complete to an incredible standard, it was quick and far better value than the other quotes we received. I couldn’t recommend this company enough

Excellent service !! Gave us some great ideas for our place with all the pros and cons. Once we made our decision on what we wanted to do, Arshad and Rob talked us through the process of the next steps with the local authority and carried out all actions required in a timely manner, took all the stress away from us was completely hassle free.
