Zeal began our project January 2020; a loft conversion and kitchen extension. Communication was excellent to begin with but deteriorated rapidly. They had to put a steel beam in our kitchen and to save themselves money, they decided to cut the beam in 2 and bolt it together which was designed by our structural engineer. However, they failed to join the beam to the structural engineer's specification and only fixed 50% of the bolts. When they removed the support, the whole house dropped and it could have been catastrophic, even fatal. Luckily, one piece of wall housing the boiler saved the house from collapse. At this point we should have stopped and consulted an independent professional but they assured us everything was fine and had their own structural engineer who also assured us it was fine. We let them continue but the standard of work was unprofessional, deadlines were constantly missed and they told us we were not allowed to interfere or ask questions. They would promise to turn up on certain days only to not show up at all with no communication whatsoever. They finally walked out of the job 1 year in without completing and leaving us to finish the project. It is almost 3 years since they started and we are still not finished, fixing problems that they created. We undertook a structural engineer to do a survey of everything and the results were heart breaking. We had to completely re-do 2 rooms which were affected by the fall. Most of the work they had already done had to be re-done as the standard was so poor. Good luck to all you guys doing renovations out there, I hope you don't encounter what we are still going through.

Gavin and Jeff were easy to work with and assisted me with my designs. Work was completed on schedule and to a good standard. There was flexibility to tweak the designs as work progressed. All of the workers were friendly and very professional. Very happy with the end result.

Zeal Developments carried out the works at our property over a 6 month duration. All of their team were friendly, polite and very accommodating of our demanding needs! Excellent standard of work and no request that we made, albeit at very late stages sometimes, was ever rejected. Both Gav and Geoff took everything in their stride and welcomed our feedback. Regular contact was the key to a great relationship, with both of them always ready to respond at anytime of the day, offering constructive advice. We would highly recommended Zeal for any project.

Gavin and the team built a great double garage for us, the design was adapted to give better storage, which caused no problems to the team. The carpentry and blockwork are top notch and the final render finish was perfect! I have used the team for other work in the past and would use them again. Thanks for the easy build!

From start to finish, a great experience. Gavin and Geoff are friendly and approachable and nothing is too much trouble. The initial plan was adapted and changed a few times before we agreed upon a design. We now have a beautifully extended kitchen, with a glass pitched roof and a large picture window overlooking our back garden, which is a wonderfully light space. Zeal also incorporated a downstairs shower room with a feature fireplace (from our old dining area) and a laundry room. The whole Zeal team are a cheery and hardworking bunch. We would not hesitate in recommending Zeal to others.
