About Us

Established in 1865, WL West Timber is a sawmill and timber merchant based in West Sussex. We specialise in hardwoods, but also supply specialist and joinery softwoods. We work with Trade & Construction, Architects & Specifiers, Heritage & Restoration and Homeowners. Our products and services include: beams & structures, cladding & flooring, mouldings, outdoor living, sawn timber, timber shakes & shingles. PRO Fencing, a division of WL West Timber, is a fencing contractor based in Farnham, Surrey. Working with some of the major housebuilders, as well as homeowners. The company supplies and fits a wide range of fencing and gates across the South East.

We have used WL West And Sons ltd for a number of years on and off. It is good to have knowledgable professionals to advise us on correct timber selections for our gate designs. In addition to top quality timber supplies, they also helped us out immensely on one particular job this summer, when an alternate supplier had let us down on and they turned round a gate for us in a short space of time (thanks Emma). I had forgotten that they could make bespoke gate designs and the quality was 1st class. We will continue in using WL West and Sons in the future.

Great products and sales team top notch. Have been dealing with W.L. West and Sons for many years and they are continually improving. Recently they made a bespoke fruit cage in seasoned Oak and the customer and I were impressed. Their gates are as good as any manufacturer in the country.

Commented: Wrought Iron or Timber Gates?Yes, good call. We've created similar in the past. Also a more modern aproach is to have steel powder coated to give it a greater protection and improve its life.
