About Us

Asili is a Swahili word, meaning 'natural'. Asili Designs is a venture to reflect this ethic in interior design, to place a piece of the incredible and vibrant continent of Africa in homes around the world through unique showpieces and holistic design. Asili Designs was founded by a lover of African culture and wildlife, who wished to bring a permanent sense of this home, through pieces sourced through travels in South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, and Zambia. The shop is designed for the same purpose - to bring some of the continent's natural elegance and beauty to your home, whilst at the same time delivering much needed funds to local communities and help to those dedicated to conservation projects across the continent. Asili Designs has personally searched far and wide for the best products across all the genres visible on this site. The founder has also gone to great lengths to ensure that all of the animal-related products on display are authorised by government and warranties to that effect are available on this website. Asili Designs hopes that you enjoy browsing this site and whether you have visited Africa in the past or not, that you can visualise just a small piece of African culture in your homes.
