Bob’s Trees Nursery and Garden Center evolved out of our Christmas tree customer’s need for evergreen trees to plant in their yard. That was followed by a request for hardwood trees. The first field of nursery stock was planted in 1963 and has been growing (no pun intended) ever since. There are now over 275 acres planted with shade trees, crabapples, ornamentals, evergreens and shrubs, plus over a hundred acres planted with cut-your-own Christmas trees. Bob’s Trees has become the area’s largest grower of nursery stock and Christmas trees. Because our trees and evergreens are grown here, in our own nursery, they are hardy for this area and are already acclimated to our climate. We take extreme pride in what we grow and are constantly looking for ways to make our products better. In 2005, we started getting one of our fields ready for a 10 gallon pot-in-pot production program which allows us to harvest during the summer months, instead of the usual spring and fall for balled and burlapped digging. We feel our new size also makes it easier for the homeowner to install their own trees. We plan to expand into different sizes and varieties in the future. Besides all the items that we grow, our garden center is stocked full of ornamental trees, flowering shrubs and perennials that our buyer spends numerous hours locating. We sell Espoma organic fertilizers, grass seed, palletized stone, bulk mulch, stone and top soil, hand tools, rakes and shovels. We also carry birdseed, bird feeders and bird houses. Come take a look at what we have produced, right here in upstate NY. Trees, it’s what we do!
